2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake,
can you help me unravel my latest mistake,
I don't love him, winter just wasn't my season
Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to critisize,
hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason

'Cause you can't jump the track,we're like cars on a cable
and life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button girl,
So cradle your head in you hands
And breathe, just breathe,
Woah breathe, just breathe

May he turn 21 on the base at Fort Bliss
Just today he sat down to the flask in his fist,
Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year.
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while,
But my God it's so beautiful when the boy smiles,
Wanna hold him, maybe I'll just sing about it.

Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table.
No one can find the rewind button boys,
So cradle your head in your hands,
And breathe, just breathe,
Woah breathe, just breahte

There's a light at each end of this tunnel, you shout
But you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
These mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around.

2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, its no longer
inside of me, threatening the life they belong to
And i feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them, however you want to

Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable,
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand.
and breathe, just breathe
woah breathe, just breathe,
oh breathe, just breathe.

To me this song is so INFJ because first it starts out with the kind of friend I'm sure we all have, who tends to be self destructive, close to us, and knows we'll be there.. when needed. Especially late night, I don't know if it's INFJish, but I tend to be a night owl, and it's when I do some of my best thinking. Also it shows, how we tend to defend the ones we love and don't like people being treated misfairly.

Then it goes on to another person who we can see. Not just for what they portray, but something different. Something deeper, and our empathy for the situation.

And last, there is the us.. who try constantly to express ourselves because if we don't we just might suffocate from the overwhelming feeling of it all. And we hope, we hope that someone will take this piece of us, and understand it... appreciate it, and finally see us.

<3

What do you think? INFJ?

threw you the obvious and you flew
with it on your back, a name in your recollection,
thrown down among a million same.
difficult not to feel a little bit disappointed
and passed over
when i've looked right through
to see you naked and oblivious
and
you don't see me.but i threw you the obvious
just to see if there's more behind the eyes
of a fallen angel,
the eyes of a tragedy.
here i am expecting just a little bit
too much from the wounded.
but i see through it all
and see you.
so i threw you the obvious
to see what occurs behind the eyes of a fallen angel,
eyes of a tragedy.
oh well. apparently nothing.
you don't see me.
you don't see me at all.

And then I don't feel like I need to explain this one at all.

Beethoven was most certainly, I believe, an INTJ. But I also believe that INFJ feel Moonlight Sonata very strongly. INTJs can be very passionate, and just this type of emotion feels kind of typical for an INTJ. :p

I on the other hand believe that Brahms was an INFJ, listen to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62pIwBF8-Dk&feature=related

It feels introverted, every picture of him walking around shows him with his hands on his back philosophizing, it has to be intuition. It is just to vague and the rhythm and composition is too stretched out to be an S. An F speaks for itself, the piece just breathes comforting emotion!
He was an INFP or INFJ, but I think only an INFJ can have this kind of philosophy in their works. It just breathes eF in a way.

I also want him to be an INFJ cause he's my god and my hero :p But aside from that I am pretty certain he was an INFJ.

Anyway, the entire piece "variations on a theme by haydn" is as near perfection I've ever heard. The entire piece just flows perfectly. Give it a try and really try to grasp the entire schwing of the piece and everything (and if you're not into classic, it can be pretty hard work.)

Sorry for the long post, but i REALLY would like to hear what other INFJs has to say about Brahms. He just makes me.. feel stuff I didn't even know existed. If you take Moonligt sonata as an example, it is a more tangible and solid feeling, very strong of course, but Brahms invites you to the open sea during a storm and never lets you rest!

Peace out

A thousand years, a thousand more,
A thousand times a million doors to eternity
I may have lived a thousand lives, a thousand times
An endless turning stairway climbs
To a tower of souls
If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars,
The towers rise to numberless floors in space
I could shed another million tears, a million breaths,
A million names but only one truth to face

A million roads, a million fears
A million suns, ten million years of uncertainty
I could speak a million lies, a million songs,
A million rights, a million wrongs in this balance of time
But if there was a single truth, a single light
A single thought, a singular touch of grace
Then following this single point , this single flame,
The single haunted memory of your face

I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head

I may be numberless, I may be innocent
I may know many things, I may be ignorant
Or I could ride with kings and conquer many lands
Or win this world at cards and let it slip my hands
I could be cannon food, destroyed a thousand times
Reborn as fortune's child to judge another's crimes
Or wear this pilgrim's cloak, or be a common thief
I've kept this single faith, I have but one belief

I still love you
I still want you
A thousand times the mysteries unfold themselves
Like galaxies in my head
On and on the mysteries unwind themselves
Eternities still unsaid
'Til you love me

I think Leonard Cohen is INFJ.

His lyrics are very infj/p.

Two Days of the New songs seem to fit this nature, though most of the Green Album is very introspective in nature too.

Shelf in the Room is complex with several meanings to it. I love the instruments interweave so well in this song. It's definitely in my Top 10.

The key is so distant
I've opened doors
Know when to listen
know what to listen for

The shelf in the room
has been the way of holding me
and letting me stay

Kick me out
let me go
I don't belong here no more
A releasing sense of getting tired
Hold myself
I can't hold myself

The shelf in the room
has been the way of holding me
and letting me stay
The shelf in the room
has been so true
I can hide in
the shelf in the room

Holding out
never hold in
holding out
Holding out
never hold in
holding out

Know when to listen
Know what to listen for
Believe in resistance
don't let them tell you anymore
Is there anyway/no
to get away/no
Ask myself
while I stay inside

The shelf in the room
has been the way of holding me
and letting me stay
The shelf in the room
has been so true
I can hide in
the shelf in the room

Holding out
never hold in
holding out
Holding out
never hold in
holding out
never hold

The key is so distant
I've closed my doors
The shelf in the room
is rain waiting to pour

Weapon and the Wound is my other pick. (Live version posted)

I won't break this
It took so long to make this
The life I lead is getting through to me

I won't take this
Took so long to get rid of this
Anything is everything to me

What a step in time

Running after you
I don't know where you are
And I can't seem to get you
I want you to know me.... yeah....

The pain that greets me
Is a stick that beats me
Solid dream, hope isn't what it seems

Words I can't miss
Is a song that sings you
Missing friend, tomorrow is the end

What a step in time
Find my place in life

Anything is everything to me
Anything is everything to me... yeah....

Yeah
Don't know where you are
I want you to know me

I've encountered this song many times, but I only actually heard it today. I can feel overwhelmed with this same sense of isolation felt a thousand times over in a crowd.

Perfume Tree - So Far Away (link is correct)

sad it's all over, sad it's all over
sad it's all over, so glad to see you again
so glad to see your face in the clouds
high in the sky floating over the crowds
can't take no more of that dry waiting game
dying to fly with you over again
arms outstretched and we're ready to soar
terrestrial nightmares don't hurt anymore
leave all our troubles behind as we climb
safe in the knowledge that we've escaped time
the others will see as we fly overhead
we'll laugh until nightfall pretend that we're dead
as angels we'll watch them our thoughts reading theirs
true mind over matter we'll share in their cares
heads on their shoulders we'll help them unseen
comfort encircled a slate is wiped clean
they'll leave all their troubles behind as they rise
safe in their ascent to paradise
the air is so fresh and the sky is so blue
a mantle to wrap all around me and you
to warm and to cool to protect us from all
to hold us up high and to catch when we fall
no sorrow no sadness affects us today
our tears of the past are now so far away
a smile sparkles white as we laugh and we rave
so close to the crest of a heavenly wave

A Glimpse of Introverted iNtuition
posted by VJ on Mar 16

I saw this video today, and it struck me as a really interesting representation of introverted iNtuiting. After all, Ni is a “fantasy life” in many respects. What this woman goes through in her bed reminds me of how often I fall into bed and live a thousand lifetimes before I wake up in the morning. Does anyone else reading this have that experience?

Anyway, see what you think of the video. (Remember, it’s not about the song, it’s about the images!)

Sun been down for days
A pretty flower in a vase
A slipper by the fireplace
A cello lying in it's case

Soon she's down the stairs
Her morning elegance she wears
The sound of water makes her dream
Awoken by a cloud of steam
She pours a daydream in a cup
A spoon of sugar sweetens up

And She fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
As she goes in a store
With a thought she has caught
By a thread
She pays for the bread
And She goes...
Nobody knows

Sun been down for days
A winter melody she plays
The thunder makes her contemplate
She hears a noise behind the gate
Perhaps a letter with a dove
Perhaps a stranger she could love

And She fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
As she goes in a store
With a thought she has caught
By a thread
She pays for the bread
And She goes...
Nobody knows

And She fights for her life
As she puts on her coat
And she fights for her life on the train
She looks at the rain
As it pours
And she fights for her life
Where people are pleasently strange
And counting the change
And She goes...
Nobody knows

This is one of my cheer up songs! There are so few songs that can actually put me in as good of a mood as No Rain can. I'm not sure how completely INFJ it is, but it is definately idealistic.

"I just want someone to say to me: I'll always be there when you wake
you no I'd like to keep my cheeks dry today, so just stick with me and I'll have it made"

And all the stuff about not understanding himself...

If you wanna be my friend
You want us to get along
Please do not expect me to
Wrap it up and keep it there (Fe)
The observation I am doing could
Easily be understood
As cynical demeanour (infj persona at times)
But one of us misread... (Ni)
And what do you know
It happened again

A friend is not a means
You utilize to get somewhere
Somehow I didn't notice
friendship is an end
What do you know
It happened again

How come no-one told me
All throughout history
The loneliest people (infj)
Were the ones who always spoke the truth
The ones who made a difference
By withstanding the indifference (infj)
I guess it's up to me now
Should I take that risk or just smile?

What do you know
It happened again
What do you know

Simple lyrics but I think a lot of us feel this way at times...

Great song. I have heard this quite a few times on the radio and liked it a lot. Never knew who sang it 'til now--thanks Ria.

YAAAY! There's finally a video for this piece! I've been listening to Oren Lavie for maybe a year now, after finding his tune on a car commercial (*sheepish grin*). I bought his album but I've been frustrated that I've never found any videos or any MP3 clips. Good news - finally he's getting popular. Bad news - he's finally getting popular.

Lol!

But that is a WONDERFUL video. I loved it. Thanks for sharing it, Restraint.
