Cognitive Processes

I'd like to see the chart, or at least the averages, Indigo.

The test claims I'm INFP, but I think I'm an INfJ/ENfP hybrid of some sort.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INFP

Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Feeling (Fi): Staying true to who you really are. Paying close attention to your personal identity, values and beliefs. Checking with your conscience. Choosing behavior congruent with what is important to you.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation’s dynamics.

If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENFP, or INFJ

O.O they're all so close... I'm an occasional INFP, but a regular INFJ. I swing back and forth usually... an INFX if anything. ^_^

--------------------

These results seem pretty accurate. I took this in a very neutral mood so it should be pretty valid. I have been noticing that I use Si more then I initally thought. I just assumed it was low because I do not use Se at all (as seen here). I think I use Si to "validate" my use of Ni in some cases. While this does seem like it wouldn't work as the two functions seem incompatiable, for me it does make sense.

I think this represents the most accurate take on me thus far. So I will have to edit and say my function order is now this:

Ni > Fi > Fe > Si > Te > Ti > Ne > Se

Wierd. I took this a few hours ago and it was different, but I still scored highest (by far) on Ne. That time it told me I was ENTP. After reading up on ENTP I gotta say I'm starting to wonder...

I took this test again today to illustrate a point of how widely our function preferences can fluctuate, yet generally remain consistent in the overall proportions. Even though the scale of my results is always similar, the test types me as either ENFJ or INFJ, depending on the day. This means that my personal cognitive function preferences are similar to both types, often depending on my mood my self assessment will vary slightly into one or the other. Do my cognitive functions vary that widely? Probably not. I posted this collection of results as evidence of how much of an affect our perceptions, moods, and current circumstances can have on our self assessment answers. Keep this in mind when considering the results of any self assessment tests you may take.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INFJ
Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Intuiting (Ni): Transforming with a meta-perspective. Withdrawing from the world and focusing your mind to receive an insight or realization. Checking if synergy results. Trying out a realization to transform things.

Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Feeling (Fe): Building trust through giving relationships. Empathically responding to others' needs and take on their needs and values as your own. Checking for respect and trust. Giving and receiving support to grow closer to people.
If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENFJ, or ISTP

As an aside, I averaged all of my results and put them in order to make the big picture more clear.

(Ni) ***************************************** (41.7)
(Fe) ************************************** (37.1)
(Fi) ********************************* (34.4)

(Ti) ********************************* (32.5)
(Se) ******************************* (30.4)

(Si) ********************* (18.3)

The INFJ / ENFJ functions are in bold, but notice how my Fi and Ne are extremely close in preference to my auxiliary and inferior functions. This is an extremely common side effect on this quiz, and I suspect has much to do with function merging. For example, my Fi seems to be a midpoint of my Fe and Ti while my Ne is very close to my Se and likely a merging of my inferior Se and dominant Ni. (Other tests indicate that my Ne is likely stronger than this test suggest and would likely be closer to a balance between the two.)

If you're getting these sorts of function results, don't worry. It is normal. These self assessment questions are triggering reactions from your more dominant functions which combine to cover the areas otherwise covered by a single function. For example, if a question is designed to assess Fi, but you have a strong Fe and a strong Ti, you're likely going to answer favorably. It is in the overall results that the functions expose themselves and we get a much more accurate picture of a person's cognitive function heirarchy.

And as one last aside...

I averaged all the functions results from this test based on how they apply to the MBTI. Here are my results.

(F) *********************************** (35.8)
(N) ******************************** (34.5)
(T) ************************ (25.7)
(S) ********************* (24.3)

(I) ********************************* (31.8)
(J) ********************************* (30.8)
(P) ******************************* (29.4)
(E) ******************************* (28.8)

As you can see, there is no ambiguity between my F and T, nor my N or S.

However, my I and E functions are very close, and my J and P functions are statistically identical.

I would regularly get INFP, ENFP, INFJ, and ENFJ results on the MBTI, with very low numbers on the I/E and P/J axis. Needless to say, I was very confused by my fluxuating types, and sought a definitive answer. I clearly wasn't restructuring my entire cognitive function heirarchy every week. It wasn't until I started taking this test, and others that isolated the specific functions, that I was certain of my type.

If you are at all confused about your MBTI type, especially if it is because of your MBTI test results, this cognitive function test can be an invaluable resource.

Your results look like they could be a good match for ENFP as well, however all of my ENTP friends have rather 'wacky' results on these kinds of tests. If I had to place a bet, I'd wager you're an ENTP. My ENFP friends tend to have very polar results. One ENFP on here got a 0% on her T functions (and thought that meant she was retarded, hehe). Your results seem to be skewed to the 'norm', but not especially polar.

Yeah, Von Hase, I have been reevaluating what I might be (see my blog). NF definitely, probably P, unsure about E/I. I want to take this test again, and see how the results might vary from the first time I took it.

Or:
Ne > Ni > Fi > Fe > Ti > Se > Te > Si

The top two processes are both perceiving, and basically are equal...and my Fi and Fe are very close. In fact, Fi, Fe, and Ti are close enough that the difference is almost negligible...I think it actually points more to INFJ, though, because my Te and Si are not good at all, and it's all really close...
