INFJ Political Pattern

D:

My mother accused me of being a socialist the other day. I must say, I was quite offended.

I haven't studied politics in depth enough to decide if any of the points of views met what I believe- furthermore, I haven't studied the issues enough to know what I believe regardless.

That's fine, and I think some people jump to labels too quickly before they're really ready. However, don't feel like you have to understand everything align yourself with something either.

Also, you should be a socialist.

*slap slap*

No. Maybe later.

Alright, alright...

*crosses fingers in hopes of eventually seeing socialist slant

In terms of labeling, you could say that I am a Left Libertarian. I am highly skeptical of corporate involvement in politics and statist elements of both parties. My "goal", if you will, would be the creation of a state-less society where individuals are free to pursue their interests without the supervision of a cumbersome and overly-complicated centralized government. This means that I have difficulty choosing a particular party to align myself with at any given time, as they each have their own flaws which contradict my views. The majority Democratic party, while espousing ideals such as equality and liberty, still pursues a statist agenda similar to that of the Republican party's neo-conservative element. I do not trust the party's religious element because I am concerned about the consequences of its control relating to social issues. As for the Libertarian party, I feel that it is impossible to have a political "party" of individualists. I've been told that I will never be fully satisfied with any political leader, but I would rather stick to idealistic guns than fake my support and violate my personal code :)

On a side-note, I actually used to consider myself a socialist before a re-evaluated myself and my beliefs.

Why did you find it offensive if you are not sure whether your views are indeed socialistic?

She knows that I don't know enough information to determine what I think and what I don't think, and she expressed that being a socialist as a negative view- Perhaps being offended had nothing to do with the fact that I was called a socialist, it was just that my mother said it.

haha I get that feeling a lot. I HATE IT when people use terms such as "socialist" and "communist" and "anarchist" as insults. Such insults do not not do justice to a person's beliefs. When I worked in the Obama campaign last year (Jan 2008-Nov 2008) I would get that a LOT from people on the opposite side. Once they saw me with an Obama sticker, the less open-minded ones would refuse to even acknowledge that I had any views other than the Democratic party's. It was so annoying, but hey that's party politics for you.

National Liberalist here, or National Socialist. I am not certain.

On a big Swedish forum, INTJ and ENTJ are ridiculously overrepresented when it comes to liberalism. More than half were INTJ I think when a poll were created, and 20% were ENTJ, something like that. Just a footnote.

thats easy to figure out. Do you think that the government has the right to to use your money for its social programs, or not?

I'm closest to a social libertarian (what used to be called "true" liberalism, I s'pose), but I wouldn't even lump myself into that category as much. I think we should have total intellectual freedom, but I'm not naive; I know full well any dictatorship or similar-minded political structure could take advantage of such a situation. I would love to have full freedom and a full exchange of ideas, but we can't expect the world to comply.

No, I believe everything should be on the free market except the judicial system, the police and the military and the state should have very low taxes. Then I have some thoughts about making restrictions in the school system and immigration.

What I mean, is that I still have thoughts about just skipping the bullshit and go with the strictness NS provides. I am not certain, as I said before.

Sooo...are we talking Nazi party, or something else?

I HATE IT when people use terms such as "socialist" and "communist" and "anarchist" as insults.

How can you use those clearly political terms as insults? I don't understand.

That stemmed from a period of social and political unrest -- it's not so much the political part of it that caused insults, but the revolts and violence that were sometimes carried out by members of those parties.

For instance, think of the "red scare" in America. And there were a couple incidents of riots that were alleged to be started by anarchists.

I'm to the extreme right in economic matters, and to the extreme left in social ones, and I would even go so far as to call myself an anarchist.
In fact, I am essentially an anarchist, because I believe in voluntaryism and the non-aggression axiom.
I am, however, hesitant to label myself as an anarchist, not because I lack anti-statist sentiment (quite the contrary), but because the traditional association of anarchism puts me in league with a lot of collectivist left-leaning types; people that I generally despise.
As such, capitalism gives me a major woody.

I'm am extremely libertarian, and would self classify myself as being an anarcho-capitalist.

To summarize, I am a nut.
And, there is next to zero chance of any political candidate that I would actually vote for getting elected any time soon.
Not a fun position to be in.

Also, I've noticed that my type generally tend to be libertarian, or at least have major tendencies.

I would be too. Idealists are the worst politicans.

Idealists like to please everyone, hate conflict, and be liked by everyone. Many use socialism as a tactic to try to please everyone, but it doesn't work and socialism, in my opinion, does not work. Plus, it is impossible to please everyone, someone will be upset, you have to deal with conflict when a politican, and someone will always hate you. Unfortunately, a lot of politicans try to change this idea and rule, but fale for it is pure fact that this will always happen.
