What's the best spoof movie? OF ALL TIME ;)

Hands down it's Airplane for me.

Who can forget Monte Python's Quest for the Holy Grail?

Tis but a flesh wound!! ;)

"You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you!"

What movie is Grail a spoof of?

The first one that popped into my head was Airplane. The next one was Blazing Saddles. By far the best of all time.

I forgot Mel Brooks! Yes, he's in my very top list...I actually loved "High Anxiety" which was a spoof of all the top Hitchcock films.

And Airplane is a given. :D

I always think of Airplane! in this genre. My parent's took me to the drive-in to see it when I was 6. I remember the boobs. Oh, yes, I do. But the movie was funny too.

Galaxy Quest was surprisingly funny. I loved it. It was warm hearted and yet hit all of the ironies right on the head. I was expecting far less. It was very good.

But I have to agree with Muir, Sex and the City 2 is the best parody of all time. They even set it in hell on earth. So smart and sneaky!

I used to watch blazing saddles on tv as a kid whenever they played it. Mostly to figure out if Gene Wilder was in fact human.

I did enjoy "This is Spinal Tap", but it has a VERY specific sense of humor:

Not really a movie, but it's part of the movie. The Talking Heads "Stop Making Sense" dvd has a parody of interviewers. I found it clever.

I can't argue with a lot of the above suggestions.

Nominating Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned To Stop Worring and Love the Bomb. On a technicality.

Oh man, I forgot about that one!
Ever see the movie Fail Safe that came out nearly at the same time?
It has an ending that is chilling the first time you see it.

George Kubrick filed a plagiarism lawsuit over it since it seemed way too similar in content to his movie Dr. Strangelove.
Even though both films were based off different novels.

my vote will be cheap :)

i hear Kickass is really good; haven't watched it though, and pro'ly haven't even watched most of the movies it spoofs.. if u wanna more artsy choice, perhaps 'ed wood', if it counts, dunno..

Lloyd Bridges must be the king of spoof movies 'OF ALL TIME' (;]) - he's also at the center of the Airplane!'s

I third(?) Blazing Saddles! Love that movie! Also, Super Troopers! Kind of a spoof on coppers in general. :D
