What vocal part are you?

I believe I'm a tenor, although I'm trying to expand my vocal range. I have a problem with cracking and freaking out about high notes.
According to this video, my vocal range is:
B2-B4.

With a range that high it is more likely that you are a Dramatic Soprano. Their sound is best between C4 and D6 and they have a darker timbre than the other types of Soprano, though it is brighter than a Mezzo. Mezzo-Sopranos usually sound best between A3 and A5. Though is some cases they have been known to go as high as C6. Anything higher than that is typically uncomfortable or out of reach. There are, or course, exceptions. Other than the 2-3 note difference in range the major difference in in the tone and color of the voice.

So you can see what I mean here's Cecilia Bartoli (Mezzo-Soprano) performing "Una Voce Poco Fa" from Il barbiere di Siviglia.

See what I mean? Most of the difference is in the color of the tone. Well and a difference of Key here, but I was more going for the difference in the vocal sound not the arrangement of the aria itself.

I kind of went on a tangent didn't I? oops....

Hmm, I seem to have a tone that's even darker than the mezzo.

Ever listened to Tarja Turunen? My voice is closer to the sound of her's than anyone else I can think of.

She's actually a Full Lyric Soprano, like me. Her voice seems to resonate in a different place though, which can account for the darker tone.
 
At any rate, I tended to be used in Alto in choir a lot because in soprano, my voice stuck out horribly because of the difference in tones. However when it came to solos I was often chosen.

I had a similar problem, which I eventually overcame. It took a long time to learn how to blend my voice with others. I'm still better as a solo singer, though.

I would take a gander that you are either a Tenor or a Baritione.


[MENTION=2096]DevilDoll[/MENTION] would be a better judge though.
 
A3 - G4 for me apparently. My range suxorz. :(
 
D3 to F5 for me. So based on that video I'm an Alto.

It would appear that I'm a baritone. More specifically a Kavalierbariton.

In high school--the last time I sang in a choir--I sang tenor. These days I sound like a gravel-throated mudlark.
 
I think I'm a baritone. I love singing though I'm only average. I'll whoop ass at some karaoke though.:m027:
