Btw!!! If anyone is wondering why it might be advantageous to do both big guns and small guns in fallout 2
Imagine you're in the middle of combat, it's your turn. You pull out your hefty, powerful big gun. It does a lot of damage. But it takes more action points than a small gun. Let's say it takes 4 action points (if you've built your character the right way). You're down to 3 action points. So you switch to the small gun you have in your other hand, which takes 3 action points, maybe even only 2, and that's an extra attack for you that round :]
If you haven't built up small guns alongside big guns, the chances of you landing that shot are small, especially if you're far from the enemy. Instead of a 95% chance of hitting, maybe you'll have a 20% chance
So now you have two different kinds of guns to play around with in battle, both sure to hit, and hit hard
Say you have 10 action points:
First attack - big gun, 4 points
Second attack - big gun, 4 points
Third attack - small gun, 2 points
