Saddest songs you've ever heard.

Most probably won't get the same "vibe" I do... but I find this CBL tune very sad.

Stranger than kindness
Bottled light from hotels
Spilling everything
Wet hand from the volcano
Sobers your skin
Stranger than Kindness

You caress yourself
And grind my soft cold bones below
Your map of desire
Burned in your flesh
Even a fool can come
A strange lit stair
And find a rope hanging there
Stranger than kindness

Keys rain like heaven's hair
There is no home there is no bread
We sit at the gate and scratch

The gaunt fruit of passion
Dies in the light
Stranger than kindness

Your sleeping hands journey
The loiter
Stranger than kindness
You hold me so carelessy close
Tell me I'm dirty

I am a stranger
I am a stranger
I am a stranger to kindness

i am in a strange room
on an everlasting wheel
i am now an object
and i feel an objects pain

i am not alone
i am not alone

i am in a strange room
on an everlasting wheel
i am now an object
and i cry an objects tears

and i cant see at all
and i cant hear at all
and i cant taste at all
but i can feel it all
and i cant see at all
and i cant hear at all
and i cant taste at all
but i can feel it all

i am in a strange room
on an everlasting wheel
i am an object and i know an objects peace

and i cant see at all
and i cant hear at all
and i cant taste at all
but i can feel it all
and i cant see at all
and i cant hear at all
and i cant taste at all
but i can feel it all

Underneath the bridge
The tarp has sprung a leak
And the animals I've trapped
Have all become my pets
And I'm living off of grass
And the drippings from the ceiling
It's okay to eat fish
Cause they don't have any feelings

Something in the way
Mmmm...

After six years, this song still makes me cry.

Congratulations by Blue October

A beautiful but sad song.

most songs that I know of that I would consider sad aren't so necessarily because of the song itself, but rather the things that I have inflicted with it. I think it also depends a lot on what state of mind I'm in

edit; perhaps there is a difference to what makes us sad and what we find sad. I don't know any songs that I find inherently sad, not on the top of my head.

Tough choice between "Heroes" and Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees".

I
I wish I could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim ...

Saddest lines I've ever heard, and they resonate deep within me for some reason.

For me, this one is definitely on the list of saddest songs I've heard.

If I re-think it then it must be this song

"You never return it
Well I wouldn’t miss it
I shed no tears for broken me
You never know it my peace of mind
Now inside and outside are matching"

Mumford & Sons, "Liar"

One of my favorites, anyway:

Lyrics

I know that things are broken
And though there’s too many words left unsaid
You say you have spoken
Like the coward I am I hang my head

You lie careless your head on my chest
And don’t even look at me looking my best
And all these things I can’t describe
You would rather I didn’t try

But please don’t cry, you liar
Oh please don’t cry, you liar
Oh please don’t cry, you liar

Oh please don’t cry, you liar
Oh please don’t cry, you liar
Oh please don't cry, you liar

And you lean in for your last kiss
Who in this world could ask me to resist
Your hands cold as they find my neck
Oh this love that I've found, I detest
