Okay cool, cause I was thinking I really like the Across the Universe and Dazed and Confused soundtrack...

I didn't want to post the wrong thing here. :D Or say something everyone else already said, because I like a lot of the above stated scores and soundtracks.

I forgot these:

Good Bye, Lenin!
Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amelie Poulain. Both by the French composer Yann Tiersen.

All Danny Elfman scores.

Empire of son
Star wars
Lord of the rings
Love actually
Titanic
Godfather
Breakfast at Tiffany's (specially Moon river, ofcourse)
Gone with wind

Moon river - for all "drifters and Huckleberry friends" on this forum:)

Ha! Ok, not posting via iPhone anymore.

Odyne, you took the words right out of my mouth. The score to The Village is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard and it affects me on so many levels. If I could pick a song from a score that most adequately reflects how I feel and how I think, it's The Gravel Road.

The Village
the music was fitting to every moment in that movie <3
I also like James Newton Howard as composer, brilliant!

The Holiday Soundtrack- Hans Zimmer.
Hell anything by the man is gold
(he also did the lion king, gladiator, Prince of Eypgt , Last Samurai, DaVinchi Code, Spanglish, Pirates(dead man's chest, crimson tide, And dark night)

Hayao Miyazaki Films also have incredible soundtracks

oooh I do love me some movie scores!! My all time favorite would have to be Pans Labyrinth

I second Amelie and Pan's Labyrinth. I also strangely like the choral music in "A Little Princess", and the Secret Garden soundtrack is relaxing.

As far as epic goes, I love The Prince of Egypt soundtrack. Sooooo welll written. Hans, my goodness.

One of the most beautiful, heart-wrenching themes I've ever heard by Danny Elfman (and it's almost impossible to find):

Conan
Highlander
Jurassic Park
Dr Zhivago

All Danny Elfman scores.

Ah yes Danny Elfman FOR THE WIN.

- Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain

- Hans Zimmer - Gladiator

- James Horner - everything he's ever done: Titanic, A Beautiful Mind, Braveheart, An American Tail, etc

- Javier Navarrete - Pan's Labyrinth

Bladerunner

Vangelis did an excellent job scoring this movie. The music really helps give the movie that dark dystopian feeling.

OOH I have lots, LOVE LOVE LOVE the score to Pans Labyrinth.
and as lame as its sounds the score for Twilight is very pleasant.

ps...yes I agree with anything Danny Elfman too!
