Should we go to war with Russia to save the economy?

Have you weighed out how many lives will be lost by a bad economy though? If I told you we would lose more lives by suicide as the result of poverty, loss of insurance and access to necessary health care and services, low resources and on and on....if we calculated it out and realized wow long term we actually lose less lives in a war than we do with a terrible economic crash, you'd be ok with that?

I'm not saying that's the case but I'm trying to point out that it's not really about saving lives for people who don't want to go to war, because if it was actually proven that going to war would indirectly save more lives it doesn't change the perspective. Meaning you don't actually mean what you say- it is not about saving lives, it's about something else.

What you are proposing would make everything in the past century look like baby food and would more than likely include you as well in the billions of lives that could be lost but I Know that is what those like yourself want. Also if yourself was also concerned about the environment you do realize that the nuclear fallout would kill off a large swath of anything that remained up to that point as well push the biosphere much closer towards collapse than it already is.

Anyone who think this would be a good thing is not only a cold heartless monster but one that could someday have a lot of blood on one's hands.

Well it looks like a lot of us get to die soon because Putler & Shit Bags are threatening to use nukes as of yesterday.

If they say nuc-u-ler, I’ll take them out first.

Funnily enough, the way we are going to war with Russia will actually crash the economy further than it already is.
Yep. Nobody wants war for sure which is why I am actually more pissed with Zelensky on this. When they built the dams on Dnieper to piss Crimea and Moscow further, surely they should have known that more lives would inevitably have been lost. Losses due to drought, and then later to war. There could have been a way to achieve diplomatic balance because it's not like they didn't know what Putin was adamant about but they refused to talk to Moscow until things are evidently too late. Now with Moscow demanding roubles for oil payment, a lot of things will definitely go bad economy-wise especially with Russia and China floating the idea of returning to the gold standard instead of the dollar. These have been a series of bad decisions which could have been curtailed if they heeded Moscow when it demanded water for Crimea. Crimea is necessary to Moscow for trade and so are waters from the Dnieper for its agriculture. Sometimes fighting for a so called ideal is futile if the loss is greater than the benefit down the line and thus I seriously believe that as a leader responsible for the lives of his people, Zelensky should have known the larger implications of his stances and treaded as lightly as possible. Now those decisions will be reaping the damnation of not just Ukraine but of Europe and the US most notably so. These are changing times indeed. If the differences in ideology are truly what's causing this war then that would be even sadder because even kindergartners would have seen that all that was necessary was a modicum of respect emerging from both sides which would have established the required gravitas for peace. In my pov though, this war has been caused by arrogance and lust for power which is always the case.

I’m embarrassed to see this question posed on the INFJ Forum, of all places.

I’ve even had a peek now and then on right-wing newspapers over the past month to see how they’re viewing this and even on the comments section of The Sun (reading age 5) people realised escalation of war between Nato and Russia most-likely would lead to nuclear war and therefore a no-go.

I guess this is what happens when we’ve lived ‘cushy’ lives in greed-obsessed societies where money comes before lives.

Nato and Ukraine are playing the most dangerous game in the history of mankind - they have been since they started prodding Russia for a good while now. We’re being led by a pack of baboons who will all be alright no matter what; its people like us that will pay for their mistakes.

Also, why did no one utter a word when Russia invaded Syria? What’s the difference between a child in Ukraine and a child in Syria? A young boy from Ukraine throws a rock at a Russian tank and he’s a war hero. A young Iraqi boy does the same at a US tank and he’s a terrorist.

Above everything, this war has made me realise the depth of hypocrisy in the west. I always thought no one cared about anyone, but it turns out people do care, but most only do when the oppressed are also white.

The single-most redeeming feature of war is its ability to reveal how thin the veneers of civility and morality are. Humans double-down on tribalism way before they become willing to love their neighbor. Control the narrative and no matter what you do, you can win hearts and minds, and thus write the history.

You realize this thread title was rhetorical and purposely created to engage response and unfold a broader discussion of the issue, right?

Of all people I would think you would know not to take my posts literally

With airline routes and how every country is dodging every other country in europe, it is very similar to soviet times and people have predicted ww3 has already started, I hope this can be de-escalated somehow. Even if it requires compromises.
