Instrumental Music

EPIC!!!

Okay, so this is incredibly dumb and possibly incredibly Yanni of me [points to those who get the reference], but I love the songs on Kyodai Mahjongg. I've got other favorite instrumental songs - yet this game's soundtrack is so unusual sometimes I just like listening to it instead of playing the games.

Yeah, a lot of cello stuff, and a bit in German, sorry about that. All awesome.

Yo Yo Ma and Mischa Maisky are two of my favorite instrumentalists.

An amazing piece of music that is played by an absolutely amazing woman. Jacqueline duPre is such an inspiration. She still is the ultimate example of music's influence on us as humans...
For anyone who doesn't know her story, she was a prodigal cellist, the most skilled there was, legendary, the idol for pretty much every cellist in the world, even if she was a bit 'eccentric with her movement', or so they said in those days. She married the conductor you see in this video, but unfortunately, she developed Multiple Sclerosis, and her amazing career was cut tragically short, when she was only 28 years of age. Despite her premature demise, she remains an inspiration to every musician that sees her.

Some days it feels like this one.

This one feels more like a race between instruments. It's brilliant.

jonsi's voice is less like lyrics and more like raw emotion. I think of all of Sigur Ros' music as being instrumental.
