What type of psychologist are you?

Medication, surgery, or shock therapy are the most effective ways to treat the most severe disorders....WHAT?

CognitiveA strong proponent of "attitude is everything," you believe how a person views the world is the key to their psychological health. Negative or overgeneralized attitudes are, as well as often wrong, thoroughly unhealthy. Therapy involves the systematic reteaching and reshaping of mindset, which can be quick or slow depending on the patient.

I overall agree with this description, I believe that attitude is a major re enforcer of negative behavior however, that negative behavior can be brought around by chemical unbalances in the brain, so...yeah. Basically, it's kinda difficult to state one area of psychology.

The original Freudian psychologist, you believe that the human unconscious is forever locked in a struggle between selfish desire and socially accepted rules, which rule all of life. Childhood experience and development shape the nature of this battle, and dreams often hold the only key into these hidden motivations. Therapy must be intense and all-encompassing, explaining the patients' whole personalities (and life stories) before treating the problems.

The most optimistic of psychologists, you believe all people have the capability to function normally within them. The power to change is internal. However, feelings of inadequacy often prevent this. Therapy involves the unconditional support of patients, listening and encouraging as they seek the answers to their problems within themselves, at their own pace.

Well, yep, it seems INFS are divided in three big categories : humanist, cognitive and psychoanalytic...
But it all comes to one point : we tend to carry our feelings and analyses more than going for the hardcore stuff.
Good for us, no ?
