Our relationship is emotionally distant. He loved us in the best way he knew how, which was to work his ass off to keep us fed, clothed, housed and educated. We never really connected to this day though, but I love him and I hope I can show him a grandchild some day. I think that the only thing I can really do to repay him, though he never asked, is to show him that I can take on the same responsibility. I hope I can do this before he dies.
