That's called "every single day" in our house. The Caique keeps beeping after the microwave stops, the Senegal keeps beeping after the oven timer goes off and the African Grey runs through our answering machine greeting until we check the messages when we get home.

We have friends who are ex biologists from Florida who have lots of animals, including birds. She will yell "shut up" to the dogs in their kennels when they bark after the doorbell rings. It was funny to be sitting and visiting and a dog barks to hear the parrots hollar "shut up" to them with the same inflections/tone she used.

I will always remember this little bit I read once on "why I love my pet". This woman said she was disappointed when her cockatoo didn't speak although she tried hard to teach it. She said she noticed it made these funny noises though. She finally figured out the bird had learned to mimic the groans she made when she got up in the morning (she was older) and was stiff.
