I’ve already said more than once that it’s a problem that requires attention. To me, it’s somewhere between opioid addiction and teenage pregnancy. It’s one of many societal issues and no, I don’t think it’s more important than all the other ones. Do you?
i would rate it much higher than teenage pregnancy and opoid addiction because i'd say it can be a factor that then leads to a host of other problems including opoid addiction

i watched an episode of castle rock last night and there was this character who was a drug dealer. He's played by the same guy that's in Ozark who plays the guy the daughter hangs out with
Anyway a lady goes to him and asks him for drugs but not you know hard drugs but pills to take the edge off and i'm guessing they are the kind of pills that you get on prescription because he then said something about not having any pills because obamacare was being curtailed by the republicans or something like that
So is that writer implying that the opoid addiction has come about because of the availability of lots of prescription drugs under obamacare some of which are then sold on the street for profit?
I honestly don't know the answer to that but thought it was an interesting little bit of social commentary

I get the sense that you take a lot of off handed comments as people sort of silently nodding in communist speak. Those commies are pretty much at every turn, and a lot of people are communist and don't even realize it! I bet you have communist spittle on you right now, you better go pray the commie away. Also, good job infiltrating our communist regime here, it was about to fall apart until you showed up. Wash away our sins heavenly father.

the point of the liberal v's left thread was to help people understand if what they are arguing for is actually a part of communist doctrine or not
i don't think a lot of people consciously realise what it is they are supporting
so what happens in a forum like this is that people start creating an echo chamber where they all repeat the same talking point over and over again and then they react with outright hostility and ridicule towards anyone who presents a different view
this then creates a climate of fear where people feel they can't express themselves for fear of being bullied and/or banned
