Well, the way I act online is like the unadulterated version of real life me. Basically, how I act online is how I act with close friends. (Now what does that say about me?! I basically just said strangers on the net are at the same level as my close friends!)
I'd say MBTI is a little of both. The way you think you should be or the way to act sneaks into your type testing. It's inevitable, it's human. The only way we could ever get a unbiased typing is by somehow analyzing your raw brain, your raw thoughts and feelings, the stuff that isn't running through the censor before coming out. I feel like if people could somehow connect brains or something, people could easily be typed.
