internet speed test

I feel your pain, this is the speed I used to have.

Actually, for daily use it's fine. Just downloading films and uploading videos or streaming tv or radio is pretty tedious.

post yours!

This is now, when I'm having a great connection, but for the most part of the weekend I couldn't pass the upload part of the test thus no results to post.

Haha, so low it didn't register? I feel better now :)

I'm glad I made you feel better. :p It's really funny when you've come to think of how irresponsible some ISPs are.

Still I wouldn't live in Sweden. Too cold for me. :p

We don't go to church. We don't have to work. Too cold to be outdoors. What is there left to do?

atheism + socialism + cold weather -> high speed internet

Sort of makes sense.

I might reconsider after this. :D

That description of Swedish life sounds ideal to me, I would forsake church, fascism and hot weather any day for a zippy connection.

And yes, siamese cat, some ISPs deliver a mere fraction what you pay for. Here we're constantly told that the neverending freezes in connectivity are due to them 'improving' the line. hah!

Ah, so true, my ISP uses the same excuse. I think they write it on the wall for every tech support worker never to forget to say it. It's hilarious, and I love their tech support, nobody is better at avoiding explicit answers to questions then them. By now, after so much "improving" I should think that I live in Sweden.

Btw, I asked you in another thread but you seem to missed it, is that some kind of a coffee warmer by your monitor? :D

Oh haha, yes I missed that. No, it's the case for my camera with the lens cap sitting on top of it :D Never thought of seeing it as a coffee warmer before! but judging by your avatar looks like you're into coffee somewhat :p

Yep, I guess I saw what I wanted to see. :p Silly me, too much coffee these days. :D

This is on a 6.5meg line, they tried tell me the problem was on my end and nothing todo with them, suprisingly enough it worked fine once i moved from this isp.

currently moving so don't know what my new line speed will be yet

I live in a major city in Canada. The Internet service is pretty good here. The customer service is pretty good. If you have any problems they'll schedule a techie to come visit you within a few days. That might be because anyone can switch ISP's pretty easily, and there's lots of competition.

The customer service personnel is the same as most customer service personnel I've seen. Some are lazy, and some try harder. Overall the company's system is pretty good. As an aside, hotel customer service is always unbelievably good, anytime I've ever been in a hotel. That really amazes me.

The test came out 22.12 mb/s for download, and .96 mb/s per upload. It's supposed to be a 15 mb/s line, but there's some special feature that allows faster downloading for short bursts.

God I would love Version FIOS or even better direct fiber from someone like Level 3 communications.
