Discussion of the RELEVANT Presidential candidates for 2016

Well...lets be serious for a second if you are talking about the debate in part. The questions are being delivered that direction deliberately. Either because CNN thinks it makes good TV or they want to make the Republican candidates look like a bunch of sharks. Unfortunately they are doing a good job of it

They are politicians. If they don't want the debate to go I that direction, the they won't let it. Otherwise what good are they?

Trump has never filed for bankruptcy so lets put that lie to the side ok? Associated companies of his did but not Trump himself.
His shelter companies yes.
I’m not saying he doesn’t know how to run a business and to make money, but we are just going to ignore the bad deals and bankruptcies?
For a couple of those he was quite removed I can admit, but for the other two, he directly benefitted by our corporate bankruptcy laws (keeping the corporate entity separate from it’s share-holders, boards, CEO, etc.) thus protecting himself while thousands of people lost their jobs.
I’m not saying that he personally ran the companies into the ground or if he did, but his financial dealings shouldn’t be ignored either when trying to gain a measure of what type of business practice we might predictably see in a Trump cabinet.
Why is that a strange request? Seems perfectly logical to ask of anyone with similar questions in his/her background.

Sure. But it doesn't help anyone to pit them against themselves rather than answer questions concerning the country.

How would you frame the debate?

How would you frame the debate?

CNNs primary questions pitted the attendees aginst one another. The framing I would have done would have centered on questions about running the country not what you thought of what who said about who.

So from the debate I have decided I would be fine with Fiorina, Trump, Carson or Ribio as President. Each have their pluses and minuses but they all sound like they get it.

Glad to see Hillary is treading water. Though I would still like to see her go against Trump and Fiorina in a debate and watch her get eaten alive.

Heagle for President 2016.

I thought Nicolas Cage handled himself extremely well against the lich king of the netherworld, who's now number two in the polls for president of the universe. I would have liked to have heard more about his policies on how to save Earth's economy, but I like his stance on eliminating bees and felons on airplanes. Anyways, I think he has my vote. Him or Hillary. Also I can't vote.

Yes he has. The companies, in which he was the majority shareholder of at the time, filed for business bankruptcies. They may not have been personal filings but he was most certainly aware and a part of the decision.

Anyhow, it's clear that people have been giving him too much credit.

I was waiting for him to roll out something, anything of value during the republican debate, and he fell flat. All of that hype for nothing. Not that I would have voted for him either way, but still. It would have been nice to hear about something other than how great he is, how he will make this country great again, or about how he's winning in all the polls.

It's getting old.

Oh, and if he becomes president, I'm moving to another country.

My point stands. Trump himself has never filed for bankruptcy. As I have said.

He was born into great wealth, which makes it easier to fail and fail and fail and fail again. And again. And then make a lot of casinos by tearing down historical buildings.

My point stands, as well. Nicolas Cage has the best answers to the future of Earth. I especially liked it when he pointed a gun to the lich king and said "Put the bunny down". That spoke to my sensibilities.

Is Trump really a "relevant" candidate? I mean, sure he is influencing the agenda and the parameters of the GOP debate, but aside from the fact that he is as compelling to watch as a slow motion train wreck, can anybody see a plurality of republicans thinking they want him making life and death decisions the effect the entire world?

Apparently he is.
I can tell you this much even though I suspect you will not agree with it. I believe many people's perspective is after the last 7 years we cant possibly do any worse. I think many people support Trump because he is polarizing issues many feel have been ignored in that same time. The fact he is speaking out about it is fuel to the fire. Its not that they want him, its that hes acknowledging and putting value on those issues where they havent been for the past 7 years. Also and this is a big one. Trump is not part of the GOP establishment. Hes not a career politician.
As someone who considers themselves to be a fiscal conservative I can tell you that for myself the GOP of the last 7 years has been a huge disappointment. Full of people just happy to stir the pot and make it look like they are trying without really trying. The idea of a non career politician running the country is very alluring and I think it will remain so going into the future.

Hey man, just discussing the relevant presidential candidates for 2016!

I've been doubting my enthusiasm of Cage. I guess it all started when The Lich King of the Underworld starting riding this cool horse:

Right so out of the MANY threads here now where you can make jokes and talk of non relevant candidates you have chosen mine to do just that where I have asked specifically for that not to happen.

I just feel like this isn't a thread about all of the relevant candidates. It's about the republican candidates. Which is cool, but I just wanted to broaden the field by including the independent candidates!

I dont remember hearing Nicolas Cage announcing he is running for President in any dimension.

On to the rest of your comment. I agree that he fell flat. Its funny but I am surprised you would have considered him in the first place. He clearly has some issue with women.
If he is nominated I will vote for him only because again, its the lesser of evils. Im not moving to another country. Im staying here and Americans are going to take it back and make sure that the Constitution is upheld and abided by. If its a long road so be it but it is going to happen.
