Words which resonate strongly

I heard this many years ago. It’s by DH Lawrence but I can’t find the exact quote, so I may have it slightly wrong…

“An artist is just an ordinary man; same makeup, same stuff, only with more force. And this driving force usually find his weak point, and he goes cranked or goes under.”
Or perhaps it’s more that those with special gifts have to have compensatory weaknesses. Typology can account for this. INFJ struggles are a part of having great potential imo.

Separation of church and state and emancipation. “Shake and bake”.

if one is consciousness and another the subconscious, one would take the win to lose their own “shadow”. If one where to become aware of it another would die in its place. It’s just experience and being fed it. Your climate will tell you what symbols to believe and what to desire and believe.

faith and belief are separate. Judgement has its preservations and reserves. Every single part of society will tell you what to believe. Society in socionics, religion in belief, law in judgement, and psychology in faith. None of them have an overlap without a scapegoat these days. You can die for another and it’s never heard. Reference to another post.
I’m going to report you to the Plain English Society lol. That made no sense to me whatsoever.

Interesting, because it made perfect sense to me. It seemed an abstraction of self and other in the context of a human nervous system symbolic processing and programming level. Processed and programmed by both oneself and the culture one lives in.

Cheers,
Ian

Pretty much people take what they want without a care for who it affects.

And even when you do care, the limits of one’s awareness and insight, not to mention general human fallibility, ensures that no matter what you do, no matter your will to be conscientious, you will end up trampling on others’ toes, and experience the stink eye, raised finger, and shrill cry.

Cheers,
Ian

Yep. Been there. Will continue to stand there for the ones I care for and let them spit in my face for it. ‍♀️

People want you to be a socialist, a communist, a religious leader, a judge, a lawyer, just about anything to mold people and society but never of ourself.

Hence, why attempting to be your own person is the ultimate radical act, the greatest risk, the only reward, and a danger to those who are served by your self-negation and compliance.

Best to You,
Ian

"When all of your flaws and all of my flaws
Are laid out one by one
A wonderful part of the mess that we made
We pick ourselves undone

All of your flaws and all of my flaws
They lie there hand in hand
Ones we've inherited, ones that we learned
They pass from man to man

.....

All of your flaws and all of my flaws,
When they have been exhumed
We'll see that we need them to be who we are
Without them we'd be doomed"

-Bastille

I think we're all humans just human-ing to the best of our abilities, considering: what we know, what was passed down to us through the generations, the resources we have, and so many other circumstances.

"Rise and rise again until lambs become lions." - Robin Hood

I was born with these words etched into my heart and it was years before I ever heard them.
Shelley…

Rise, like Lions after slumber
In unvanquishable number -
Shake your chains to Earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you -
Ye are many - they are few.

"No son as loving as you could ever be a disappointment"

Possibly the saddest and most moving scene in cinema history.

For two years a man learns to speak, and then for the rest of his life he learns to be silent. Aristotle

It sort of fits with my own maxim: One has two ears, two eyes, and one mouth; good discourse observes those ratios. (Listen 40% of the time, observe 40% of the time, and only speak 20% of the time).

From books:
Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

From songs or poems:
Who do you need, who do you love, when you come undone?
Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die.
And time goes by, so slowly; and time can do so much

Quotes and Sayings:
Memento Mori
Loving you was like going to war: I never came back the same.
Even in Arcadia, I can be found.
Everything will be alright in the end. If it isn't, it's not the end.
[of learning] Take what is useful and discard the rest.
It made a difference to that one.
This mass has now ended, you may go in peace with God.

From someplace:
The End is in the Beginning.
The End has not yet been written.

I'll list others if they come to me ^_^

These are the times when I curse Xenforo for only allowing me to like once, when the post in question merits something more, something much more indeed.

Highest Appreciation,

In the 1930s, Heinrich Lamm showed that one could transmit images through a bundle of unclad optical fibers and used it for internal medical examinations, but his work was largely forgotten.

I am always interested in the "forgotten ones"; the knowledge that never quite made it to collective minds, the books that never made it to the shelf, the people whose words and works got rejected at a time and fell to the wayside. Why were they forgotten? Who[what institution] rejected their work? I'm interested in learning the biases and motives behind rejected and forgotten things. There is so much hidden in the dark, the garbage bin, the tucked away closets and shelves that never sees the light of day.

Yes, but hopefully good things eventually rise up to prominence. It’s sad for the originator if they don’t get any credit though. This undoubtedly is a lot to do with Sensing versus Intuition.
