For me no matter what I pour in my swizzle and choke down- beer, whiskey, scotch, bourbon, brandy, vodka tonic, rum & club soda it all leads to the same transition from heartless robot to cartoon teddy bear. I just love people so much when i'm drunk... and quite the opposite sober.

May I point out that not everyone has a degree in science, and don't know which type of booze contains methanol, if it is in any at all?

Gin is a level-headed sort of tipsy
Rum is a bad hangover waiting to happen
Beer is just a chill sort of tipsy.
I don't drink that often, maybe a handful of times a year. I'll usually stay away from the harder stuff though. Yes, I think different alcohols effects types of drunkenness.

But, treated affectionately, and sipped through a zizzle-twizzle stick I'm tame....we won't need to go further. Let's just say it took 25+ years to learn to respect booze...
I do tend to feel sophisticated when drinking wine, but it may be mere connotations.
