I see my future in people who slowly lose their mind because that is my future. I sit here sometimes waiting for the inevitable, hoping that when I do get there, I have enough ability to at least recognize the people I love

That's beautiful, DD. My grandparents had dementia. It was incredibly sad to see them gradually fade away, in the final years not recognising any of us. At least they didn't appear to be suffering and that was a comfort to us. Thanks for sharing <3
