New How come when these numerologists annoy us, it's always about small numbers, like 11 or 13 or 7?
How come we never hear about the significance of far bigger numbers, like 7118451?
Because 0-9 are the only numbers used to create those bigger numbers.
Eg.
al·go·rithm
/ˈalɡəˌriT͟Həm/
noun
  1. a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.
*Think bianary digits that run a computer.
'In computer science, binary search, also known as half-interval search, logarithmic search, or binary chop, is a search algorithm that finds the position of a target value within a sorted array. Binary search compares the target value to the middle element of the array.' Wikipedia

In Numerology 7118451=9

Its breakdown
(7+1+1+8=17)
(1+7+4=12)
(1+2+5+1=9)
;)

I think that numerology is one of those things that is more personal than globally significant, kind of like a talisman. It might not make much sense to the broader populace, but to individuals and certain groups, these moments of synchronicity can be a system of comfort and meaning. I remember reading once about a girl who was thinking of taking her own life, but she kept seeing a certain symbol everywhere and it bolstered her to hang on for a little longer because someone once told her it represented hope.

Bad, bad stuff. Only the baddest stuff.

Bad as in good ;)

What happens if we use another base than decimal, like octal?

:D yes!
But too, numbers are used in a global sense, yet, it depends on culture as well. In India numerology and astrology are familiar to many, yet in a small villiage in Africa maybe not so much.

If the Greek ancestry are to be taken literally in regards to philosophical ideology, then what do we make of their teachings of Numerology? After all, much of our wisdoms today came from them researching previous civilization and their beliefs...see how we can get sucked into the rabbit hole? ;)

You are very much correct that meaning relies in the belief and intended use of it all @sassafras :D

Try it...
7118451

In Octal we remove the left most number and add it to the result, yes?
1+1=2
2+8=10
1+0+4+5=10
1+0=1
Then 1+7=8

Just to ask though, isn't the octal base created from the same whole number, 0-9, base which the decimal system is based on?

In octal, only the digits 0 to 7 are used.
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21...

We still represent the same numbers with it, but by using less digits, less symbols.
So if 9 means something in decimal numerology, does it still mean the same thing when written as 11 in an octal representation?
What then if we use a very high base system, a system where you can represent 7118451 with just one digit?

OK INFJs.com, we're going to settle this once and for all.

Yesterday was 11.11 (11th November), and that number supposedly has ominous meaning among New Age folk.

So I wonder: did any of you experience any spiritual confluences or encounters with the uncanny yesterday? If so, please tell us - if not, feel free to murder our naive, hopeful dreams with brutal logic and hard cynicism :)
Only this

And the anger at the senselessness, and the aching sadness, and the gratitude to those who had no choice.
Remembering is not glorifying but a sharing in the sheer futility. And still the tears …..
