  • I do like jazy music actually. I like old fashioned music like they play on Radio 2 here on a Sunday night, its like being in the 1940s :). And I like old rock from the 1970s and rock and roll. And bands like Kings of Leon. But I also reallly like country. Like all the cheesy country people like Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift and the older cheesy ones like Dolly and Kenny Rogers. I like the sentiment and simplicity behind that music more than anything. It's kind of traditional and I find that cute. No problems, being inclusive is what its all about!
Yeah the dixie chicks were ok... until my mum started listening to them and singing their songs over and over again. *sigh*
But I love acoustic songs and acoustic covers. The acoustic cover of Hey Ya by Obadiah Parker is pretty good.
No! Instuments gone to waste?! :( If only I was so lucky to have any instrument I wanted at my whim. *sigh* Anyway...
I love classical music, especially pieces that are fast and have unusual technique because they're the most fun to play on the violin. :) Ummm... almost all subgenres of indie music but I don't generally base my likes and dislikes on genre. When it comes to genres I'm pretty flexible unless it's country music:p.
Most of the artists I like are in my "about me" but yeah, I love Arctic Monkeys, The Grates, The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Laura Marling, Soko, Vampire Weekend, Kate Nash, etc... always up for new and different music though.
I dislike most mainstream stuff however. I find most of it pretty shallow.

I also like going through the triple j unearthed stuff to find new artists :D .
At the moment I'm liking courtney barnett, Red Ink, The White Vineyards and oh ye denver birds amongst some others. :)
    Really?!! That's cool! :)
I'm sort of trying to hunt someone down who has a cello just so I can try it and I know what I'm looking for if I want to buy one. It's sort of my dream to have an assortment of intruments :D
What artists do you listen to?
Hmm, I guess you're right but I like to think my friends gain alot from me because I'm a "big loveable softie" :)
Really, when I decide to be outwardly kind I really out do myself.
So maybe it's a good thing not too many people "know" about me :)
    Ooooh a new avatar :)
I'm the same. People generally see me as being cold and/or arrogant but people close to me generally love me to bits :) That's why I find real life so exhausting. Interesting... but exhausting. I can figure a person out much quicker than they can even begin to understand me. :D
I don't know whether I like this way or ot though.
This site to me is like your rest stop after a long hard day on the road.
Yeah, I also love it here :) I went to sydney for two days and sort of missed it. In fact I only just came back an hour ago and here I am. :D

    Thanks for befriending!!! :)
    Welcome to the forum :)
Hope you like it here. Looks like you'll be a regular poster in no time :)
I know, I love having people understand, there are very few who understand the tangents my mind goes through! Hehe, well that explains it then! What kind of music are you into? I like sunlight best. I used to have a 2am to 11am sleep pattern at uni. But now I like early starts and getting loads done :) Anyway, I'm glad you've joined and you like it here, the more people that join the better it is :) x
Wow, I'm exactly the same way! I did that with Krishnamurti's books too, but they were so good that I finished them. Most books, even books required for school (or should I say especially books required for school), I either don't read or do not finish.
I found the quote on a quotation website too (well, through google). It was so good that I couldn't believe I had never heard of Krishnamurti, so I looked him up and after reading about him decided to order a couple of his books. If you haven't read them, his books are definitely worth reading.
So are you a fan of Krishnamurti too? I've read On Love and Loneliness and Think on These Things, and I'd like to read The Awakening of Intelligence and The First and Last Freedom eventually.

I like the quote because I feel like I don't fit in with society very well. Is purple still your favorite color?
Ahaha, yes. I am a rather big poster here. I joined in november, and quicky got very addicted. It is really wonderful place here! I hope you grow to find the little community we have going here awesome, and that you stick around! :)
