Lovely! Here's one of Judith which I saw the other day, which that painting reminded me of:

Jules Joseph Lefebvre - Judith (detail) - 1892.

Traditional artists: rembrandt and monet

Modern art: pinterest bahahaha

In all seriousnes, I like art that focuses on an idea/emotion more than a realistic rendering of a scene/object/person.

I don't know many art styles, but I definitely like impressionists, because you can literally see the world from their eyes.

As for craftsmanship: Brunelleschi's door panels.

Marvelous and far superior to Ghiberti's, imho.

Every time I look at this thread title dozens of names race through my mind. I love art so much, and every single day someone's work spellbinds me, moves my emotions like an earthquake, or impresses me with technical skill. I have some long-term favorites, but I love new artists as much as the masters, and they are all from different genres.
A few to start: Caravaggio, Durer, daVinci, Chiara Bautista, Same Wolfe Connelly, Yamamoto Masao....

I really like the abstract expressionism of Barnett Newman. Below, his work Cathedra (1951).
