What's the coolest invention ever created?

Liquified nitrogen?

Its not an invention as much as a discovery. Graphene. Graphene is going to reshape our existence, assuming we don't kill ourselves at some point.

The ice cream maker. This is an awesome machine. Hard ice cream or soft :D

Automatic faucets. I dislike these because you have to wave under most of them more frequently than Mikey Mouse on parade. When you do get water...it's a little drizzle of cold or lukewarm. I want to wash my hands clean enough to eat from them! :p

The phonograph, or rather the underlying process that makes it possible to convey previously captured audio.

The Speakeasy.

First wave feminists and the KKK successfully pushed for the prohibition of the sale of alcohol in the United States driving it underground. As an unintended consequence the attitudes that black people and white people shouldn't intermingle were, at least in part, destroyed by the speakeasy. There are many who study Gilded-age America who argue that the civil rights movement wouldn't have happened as soon as it did without the intermingling as equals between black and white that occurred in the speakeasies.

So as bizarre as it is to say- thank you KKK and First-wave feminists for promoting equality accidently in your hyper-Christian reactionary desire to control everything. The goal of "racial and moral purity" kind of backfired didn't it? :D
