US > Iran conflict begins

Iranian State Media propaganda speaks to the Global South.

not gonna lie. This shit is cool. Goddamnit it's sharper than the black and white stuff from the mid century.

No wonder they have a 12million strong Basij!

There is no doubt in my mind now. We have just seen the birth of a new world power. Now we have multiple players.

One more (Anti-Trump supporters would probably enjoy this)

I felt like I was on trial last night questioning religion. Guy is an atheist. Isn't it funny how we answer some questions according to who we are talking with?

Running a SaaS company:

2020: can you survive a pandemic?

2021: still here? we’re going to give all of your competitors $100m series A rounds.

2022: wow, you made it? okay, all engineers cost $600,000/year now.

2023: nice job! okay, SVB failed and we’re going to take away your bank account.

2024: a survivor I see. but can you pivot from ai to crypto to defense tech back to ai-enabled defense tech in a 12 month period to stay relevant?

2025: unfortunately all of your competitors have raised $2b series B rounds. oh and only 500 engineers are relevant and they cost $100m/yr each.

2026: well, well, well. you’re still in business? let’s deploy the thunderclap of godlike LLMs from the heavens so all of your customers can rebuild your app in 2 hours. can you survive?

Why did you make this observation? What pushed you to put out this signal? Just a curiosity of mine. You don’t even have to answer :D

It's strange that a country that has just been laid waste in a preemptive strike is now more determined than ever not to give up it's nuke programme.

Then it's time to question whether or not it was actually laid to waste. Nation States are built through governance and organization. Their resilience displays that this is intact for Iran.

Why not question if it was ever meant to be laid to waste? People don't always say what their plans are during war.

@just me would that be the US and Israel? (fighting as allies) or the US and Russia (a proxy) or some other configuration?
May I rephrase that? Iran should have at least learned nuclear armed countries can fight without the use of nuclear weapons. It seems I saw no country but Russia even talking about it.

Food for thought.

Polytropos (πολύτροπος)—the man of many ways, many turns, and many resources. Odysseus, doesn't just stay 'still'; he navigates the storm, he adapts, and he findsthe path where others only see a void. I appreciate the 'food for thought'—I’ve got plenty of room for it.Hope you too :)
Wish your doubts have perspective now :)

It was just a loose turn of phrase
In any case, to me the rise in nationalist sentiment makes sense.

As an academic whose name I forgot pointed out: (he was a guest in Steve Bartlett's DOAC a few days ago), when the World Trade Center was attacked in 9/11, there was a surge of patriotism and anti muslim sentiment thereafter in the US.

Iran has been under attack for over a month now. He made a point that even democrats in Iran have slowly shifted toward promoting a nuke program in order to defend its existence. People have human chains around power plants. It makes sense that they have become more zealous than ever.

Iran has been under attack for over a month now.
Iran has been under attack of one form or another for going on 75 years.

Cheers,
Ian

good point. I should probably specify that ----Iran is being actively bombed at for 40 days now.

There is a reason why there is a growing number of scholars with a staunch anti imperialist advocacy.
