Really, my point is that injecting the idea of an ambivert defeats the purpose of the scale.
And also, people like to use ambivert as another way of making themselves feel special.

I don't believe in ambiverts. You're either an introvert, or an extrovert. Anything in between is adaptation to fit the circumstances.

I was sitting at a pub one day when two people I should probably befriend were discussing...gasp!... type. I thought I'd actually be able to join the conversation when one of them said, "I'm an ambivert." Oh...never mind.

(Considering I don't drink, I'm at pubs quite often.)
