Mass Hysteria in the U.S.

The line between factual news and entertainment or rage-bait is virtually gone. I almost don't consume news at all because I'm only interested in what factually happened, and only in happenings which are significant.

I have no patience for media which spends 5min on something which can be reported in 30sec. Moreover, I don't consider politicians' choice of clothes, food, slips of tongue, or personal lives newsworthy.

The news headlines now reminds me of the covers of gossip magazines in the doctor's waiting room, when I was a child.

Finally, this vacuous form media has taken has been guided by audience choices and commercial pressures. Pandering to what audiences will tune in for, which at times seems paranoid, partisan, or hysterical, has tuned me out.
Totally fuckin agree 1000%

When I recognize an error I have made I acknowledge immediately. I made a post regarding George Soros quotes and my opposition to him. The quote I shared was the previous image copied to my clipboard not the intended share. Because of this Wy and I were coming from two different places from the start and I didn't verify the comment until after. This was what I meant the share :

I genuinely thought Wy was being vague followed by "dont think to hard" (Stupid) put me a bit defensive. I was truly confused as to how he could be in agreement with what GS stated and wanted to better understand. This could have been cleared if I had double checked first before responding. That was my bad and a new lesson learned in chatting (I'm not great). Apologizes for the confusion and the sharp tone Wy. Rereading the interaction knowing where we were each coming from did make me laugh so its not a total loss.

I have been away for a while dealing with personal issues and thinking about things. I drop in sometimes and found a few posts regarding covid/vax.
What jumped out at me was how aggressive some were to members for what seemed to be genuinely trying to share information that may help people to know. The way Larry and O2B were shut down for sharing data and testimonies is not what I expected from this place. It pissed me off to see INFJs doing to other INFJs what I have faced my whole life. I know I see things different than most people. I have my entire life. I am used to people not getting me and being dismissive towards things I see or how I perceive things to be. Being good at winning arguments doesn't make something correct or wrong. I think INFJs could benefit from having a place where they can share without constantly having to defend. I bet being a MOD or member in an INFJ chatroom where INFJs felt open to express the unique and often brilliant ways they interpret things would be such a gift to witness.

I mean what I say when I hope you all can pause you beliefs for a moment and step and look at things from a zoomed out perspective with an open mind and let your Ni do what it does. I think most are getting lost in the details and being steered by core beliefs that may be off from the starting point. I am willing to share with anyone the information that has led me to these conclusions but dont expect understanding to come from a few paragraphs. This would take some time to go over several subjects to even start and will be impossible if unwilling to be open to just looking the information with out presupposing anything and then allow the answers to come from inside you. My reality has been that mostly likely no one really cares anyways.

No worries @Moranga and thank you for the apology/acknowledgement.
I'm sorry as well for just piling on my own frustrations because I was unable to convey my meaning well enough to be heard.

Definitely, I want to help create such an environment on this forum (as do all staff) and I'm glad you feel similarly.

My reality has been that mostly likely no one really cares anyways.

This is a lot of people's reality who come to this forum. Many people here care a great deal, myself included.

Out working with cell phone. Will get back when I get home. Thats how the first mistake happened.

It is Soros I oppose not necessarily the wording he used in the image. The image shows that he is trying to get NATO countries but mainly the US to unite against Russia. When you zoom out and see the events prior he admittedly went into Ukraine and established organizations of influence after he was kicked out of Russia (2012ish) and his organizations banned for trying to influence elections.

The jaded and perhaps cynical part of me thinks that Soros said what he said because he doesn’t like the exposed “truth” of Stalin, which renders his wealth meaningless.

“The only real power comes out of a long rifle.”

Cheers,
Ian

Now the real power comes from gaining control over the perceptions of a majority of population.

Its not about the events that happen. Its about what happens that uses the event as the reason.

"Open borders policies are about importing poverty and it is a means to dissolve our citizenship, rendering it meaningless. I think patriotism will be replaced by socialism once that is complete." -??

Sound familiar? At the bottom it expands to include refugees from across Eastern Europe.
Zoom out.

I will take Democrat "hysteria" over the Republican slide toward fascism any day.

One peculiar obsession is the plight of transgendered Americans, who comprise roughly 0.6% of the population.

The Republicans have been pushing tons of anti trans legislation recently in an attempt to rally their voting bases leading up to the midterm elections. They are the ones who are obsessed, not the Democrats. And I guess the author doesn't consider concern for trans people worthwhile because we are a minority? The Republicans are metaphorically stepping on the necks of trans people, ruining our lives and getting some of us killed, and when their opposition makes note of it the asshole who wrote this article has the gall to say talk about how "obsessed" their opposition is?

"Yeah, we're passing horrible legislation against this group of people. Why are you so obsessed with them? Why can't you let us oppress them in peace? You Dems are so out of touch." Geez.
