So, you agree that global warming is not fake news but you think the industrial revolution has nothing to do with it?
Global warming is fact. From the 1800s the earths overall global temperature has increased .8%. Since the ice age ended 40,000 years ago probably more but I do not have those numbers in front of me.
It's plausible man has had some effect on the temperatures but not one that any person has ever been able to pin down in a comprehensive way. This had this direct effect. "Deforestation has contributed to global warming by this amount in this way" etc. So I agree we need to use nonbias science to pursue real answers about what if any effect man has had in regard to climate change.

However at this point such science can probably never happen given the extent of manipulated data and lies people are willing to ingest to move forward an agenda.

It's both sad and scary. It's become a religion for many.

But if you agree that it's a fact, then you agree that it has accelerated greatly since the industrial revolution, yes?

It has not accelerated greatly. Those claims come from known to be false and manipulated data.

The tempature has increased as stated and the increase has leveled off to insignificant levels. It may increase in the future again but is not currently.

I feel like this might be a good time to recount an episode of my scientific expertise, that nearly created some "local" warming...

At school as a teenager I got into an argument with my physics teacher. After that I just stopped listening to him. I was a good kid but a bad student. One time we were given all the equipment to do an experiment, burning a peanut to use it to heat water, and measure it's energy. Or something.

I was given the Bunsen burner and set it up on the gas tap. This was in a wooden mobile classroom. I couldn't get the Bunsen burner to light. So naturally I used the lighter to check the gas tap was working ok. This was not a sensible thing to do. The gas tap WAS working fine, and attached to a gas tank and all the other gas taps.

Our poor teacher raced across the class and shut it off. Ashen faced he explained that it was dangerous to risk exploding the entire room, to test a gas tap. I could have said it was unsafe to give me scissors, let alone a lighter. Apparently he did explain the safety stuff before, but I think I was reading a soccer magazine at the time.

Science is cool. Or hot. Or whatever. I think it's good to keep teachers on their toes. That's my excuse ;)

Let's try an experiment.
I used to work for NASA. Does that make me more knowledgeable than another or between two people, the more to be trusted on science matters?

No. Knowledge is good, but creativity matters more. There is not enough data to judge what you ask.

Heisensberg was given a 3rd class degree (the lowest possible) but he was outstanding. There shouldn't be "trust" on science. It needs evidence, data, published and peer reviewed theory with preferably carefully listed experimental proof, that can be examined and repeated with the same results.

The only real authority is being correct.

Would you agree that the weather service accurately records the temperature and has done so since the 1800s? Or is that also manipulated data?

They record it as accurately as possible. I have no reason to believe otherwise. However, that data can be taken by other sources and manipulated and changed to fit a narrative. We know this has happened.

Also we can say devices to capture data have changed and become more accurate so data may not maintain a constant as a result.

Ok. Not bad. Let's see if anyone else chimes in.

Safe to say to the original question that liberals could care less about science so long as they have their agenda of socialism moved forward. "I do not want to work, work is hard. Have the people who work hard pay for me, coddle me and take care of me." That is one of their mantras and that is what the March for Science is really about.
I think its good though that we hashed that out here so its been a good discussion in the end.

WTF?! YOU DON'T WORK!!!!! You think you are capable of curing AIDS and cancer but you simply could not be bothered! And you dare to attack others for supposed agenda to not work?

That's an interesting thing to say. Outside of your career? Please explain.
It just means exactly that. I am underemployed as many people have been thanks to the stagnate economy of the past 8 years in America.

I suspected that a while ago and I think I posted something to that effect but I also wondered what level of education you had and what your degree was in?

Never finished college and do not have a degree. My last job I was making 80k a year.
Money isn't important but I think it says something when you make that kind of money and don't have a specific degree in something. That's the only reason I mention it.

Actually it was 81

I see. Thank you for telling us.
