I'd be pissed, too, Julia. His behavior is almost dehumanizing, as if you don't have a choice in the matter--it's all about his ego.
I'd cut off all communication with him if possible, and if not, make it very clear that you can handle yourself and that your mind will not be changed. Be firm and assertive.. you have to be, he's violating you in a way.
