Emotional Freedom technique.

Sounds like ritualized self affirmation to me. Of course, I suppose that's not necessarily a bad thing since ritualization can make people more involved with what they're doing and thus get better results.

Pleased to meet you. My name is Thomas. Doubting Thomas.

What's an affirmation but programming?

How much better does programming work if your circuits are running at peak efficiency?

I had read the whole book and now i am going to try it in my daily life.

Affirmations can help you building positive beliefs in your mind. But i don't know about its exact definitions. They are equal powerful in comparison to belief.

Okay guys, since so many here are emotional, I imagine that having a quick and easy method of releasing negative emotions would be really helpful.

This is something I have been using for about a year now and found it to be very beneficial.

It's called EFT or Tapping since you tap on meridians while focusing on an issue to clear it. Kind of a mix of acupressure and NLP(Neuro Lingiuistic Programming).

www.emofree.com is creator Gary Craig's site and has several resorces including the free e-manual.

www.tapping.com is a site with EFT resources and videos, highly recommend the intro video to start with. Here is his youtube channel since his site is sometimes slow. http://www.youtube.com/user/magnustapping

Their forum is great too. He also made a new tapping course recently at http://tappingcourse.com/the-tapping-course.html but I recomend that you at least start with some of the starter videos on his youtube channel.

Brad Yates takes a slightly different pproach and often taps in positive statements. His youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/eftwizard

I will answer any questions to the best of my ability. Like Gary Craig says, "Try it on everything."

Thank you for posting this. I have recently been introduced to this and it is amazing.

It's a great technique. I used it for a while and sometimes I have a hard time finding the root cause of the emotional problems. Also, things that are chronic takes more time as you have to tap the aspects of the problem on top of the root cause. The point is to make a habit of it.

But I am curious as to why it is only available and marketed through the internet and not enough sufficient medical research on the matter.:m075:

With NLP roots, and given what the basic tapping pattern hits meridian-wise, I have no doubt that this can be an effective technique for general self-maintenance and to promote a sense of general well-being.

My main concern is that some of EFT's touted benefits seem completely out-of-sync with the effort involved in it. Acupuncture, acupressure and mantra are all effective methods for different things, but 5 minutes of Gary Craig walking someone through it to completely overcome a lifelong phobia makes me more than a little skeptical. Even an acupuncture session is generally 30-60 minutes, by comparison.

I don't want to be emotion-free. I want my emotions to be free.

Huh, that's just some stupid, well sounding phrase I wrote. In more precision, I even doubt we should divide our experiences/expressions into emotional and non-emotional ones. We do not have clear objective justification for doing so. The future will tell, if that's right, for now just my intuition.
