I love determinism debates and would characterise myself as a "soft" determinist, I believe that people have the capacity to use their cerebral rather than reptilian brains but usually this isnt accidental, if it is then that is incredibly fortuitous but usually I think its the result of some sort of training, self-elected or through some sort of imposition. I do generally believe that sociology is more important than biology though, at least I think that society attempts to reproduce itself and will succeed in channelling the biological self, psychology somehow bridges the gap.
