  • Yeah, I actually was just pming somebody about this subject. I think the problem with saying that we make use of all 8 functions is that, from a pragmatic standpoint we really don't need to get into that to explain someone's behavior, and the characteristic differences between how individuals function (say, an INFJ vs INFP) makes a lot of sense if we focus on the fact that the individual is going to rely heavily on their dominant functions to do anything.
lol, no it's not. It drives people up the wall sometimes. :p

yeah, that's too much money. Money I can't imagine paying nor get a loan for. It's hard to find something you love to do and still make good money out of it. It's problem for me because I am in love with sooo many subjects, and if I pursued everyone of them I will never end up finding a job and settling down. lol

In social sicences, I'd tackle psychology first, then history and literature, then sociology and anthropology, perhaps languages or philosophy afterwards, and many many others. I am just fascinated by them. :D
really? okay good. I worry sometimes, coz I get too excited by the topic and want to share everything I know about it. Sometimes I get argumentative too, because I like to explain. haha

I see no harm in being a lifetime learner. I understand the need to decide on a career and assume your financial independence tho. Staying at school for too long can be money consuming, especially in the US. I definitely want to go back to school once I am financially secure.

That sounds like an amazing experience. Yeah, I think you are going to have the same experience in real college, and I believe you'll enjoy it. You seem to enjoy learning, and that's what college is about, so you'll do great too. =)

I wanted to study social sciences, but I wanted to learn something I didn't have the natural affinity towards, natural sciences. Since you're going to have people teaching you it, then might as well, right? :p

haha, no worries. Another epic convo has been long overdue. :D
oh my! *hides* I hate it when I come off as a know-it-all (when I'm really not! lol), coz some people dislike that. Sorry, I'll tone it down next time haha

Aw, no need to rush it. Opportunities will come your way, and then you'll see what you want to do and what you don't want to do.

    What was the mini-college like?
lol, yeah, I remember us having that conversation about that. I remember I got all excited and sounded like a physics whiz too. :p

Well if it's job skills you're looking for, then Marketing would help you a lot. It will definitely look good on your CV.

Yeah, college can be a lil stressing at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll really enjoy your time there. =)
Well, Frosh day is Orientation day. It's where you do crazy stuff as part of your integration with your classmates. Kinda like fraternity stuff, but not as hardcore as some of those may be.

All the topics you mentioned are very exciting. Let me know what you think of engineering when you try it. I've taken marketing before, and unless you have an interest in entrepreneurial relations I don't think it would be fun. It's intersting to study tho.

Biology..well, it's true, there's a fair amount of memorization in it. lol
Well, they're both my friends and they are always both around, since we have classes and such. So I have to deal with it. I try to find someone else to talk to when they are..."busy" lol

Yeah, the thing is I am going to be busy preparing activities for Frosh Day for new college students, so I doubt I am going to have time for myself haha. But it's oright, I like being busy and doing stuff. I don't know what I am looking forward to just yet, I haven't gone over my classes in details. What about you? Any classes you're excited for?
I hate it when they are smooching and I am standing right there...so awkward! I yell at them sometimes about how socially unacceptable that is (when it really isn't lol ) just so I could feel better. :D

but it's almost a trend now, even when I was in high-school, ALL my friends were dating each other, I have almost always been the odd wheel...oh well, it teaches me how to navigate with couples :p

I don't know when I start college again...I think it's on Sept. 8th. My year is going to be hell, I have a 15-18 credit course load in the fall, almost same amount in winter...I am going to become a nightowl lol
aw, I am sorry to hear that. I hate feeling the odd wheel too, it happens often when I a go out with my friends. My group of friends are dating each other, and I am the only one single, so I feel out of place and awkward a lot lately lol!

No plans yet, but I wouldn't mind lying down and doing absolutely NOTHING! lol

    When do you start college?
Well, did something happen in particular that made you want to take a break from the forums? (PM me if you want)

I have been good. Keeping busy with summer school...again. lol but it'll be over in two weeks, then I am free for another two weeks before regular school starts again.
Hey you! I havn't heard from you in a whiiillee, nor seen any of your posts around lately. Is everything good on your end my dear?
    Buyer? Mail-order bride? :m075:

Guess who's 16 AAANNNNNDDD at 1,000 posts on another forum. :D
The Academic for sure, and of course the Revolutionary goes without saying. Although I think subscribing to those labels defeats the purpose of that thread I wrote in the first place. Nobody is one archetype, all INFJs have the capability of being any and all of those variations, and many more that I didn't come up with.
The thing about pianos is that it takes a lot in order to keep them in tip top shape. Tuning them can be very expensive and if you don't get the right person to do it, you could do some damage. I love acoustic pianos, but I think that getting an electronic one may be the smarter choice.

I don't really need a nightlife. I think I am okay with working until midnight for now. Besides, I get a shift premium for working this shift lol. It helps.
Unfortunately I don't own any instruments, though I really wish I had a piano. I'm quite good at it, but am very out of practice. I miss it a lot.

I do a lot of typing and photocopying. I do work on behalf of clients importing goods into Canada. I have to send all the info to Canada Customs so that the trucks can clear through the border. It's really slow over the weekends so I have a lot of internet time lol. My shift is 4pm-midnight, so it's not so bad.
Well, yeah. Why do you think they have those "You looked hotter on MySpace" tees?
I used to play guitar a bit. I took lessons but I just wasn't into it. I prefer playing the piano.

I agree that too much downtime can make a person lazy.

Work is fine. I've been procrastinating doing any work for a few hours now, so I can't complain lol.
