Pure democracies are open to absolute majority rule. Republics have constitutions, which greatly limit majority rule, and protect non-majority citizens.
Oh absolutely. But Republics still run into the same problems and so cannot be a solution.

The common thought is that no matter your intentions nor how well thought out, a government will ultimately become corrupt over time.Oh absolutely. But Republics still run into the same problems and so cannot be a solution.

One thought was make it mandatory to serve in Congress as an American citizen. Kind of like jury duty only longer. Sounds interesting at first until you sit down and think about it. Then it's just f'ed.
Either way America has had a good run but unless we keep certain people from having a say in which direction the country takes, that's what it's been. A finite run.
Civil war that liberals clearly want. Not created by anyone other than them.
Liberals here in this forum talking about assassination, hoping that people with different views die in any number of ways.
Liberal emails telling other liberals to stir up violence at Trump ralies to entice them to protect themselves and make it look like they are violent.
Again no, liberals see the potential for violence in others because it is part of their own foundation that they act on whenever they don't get what they want.
The truth is what it is.
Ok it's official. So now I want to ask if it feels like losing all over again. Because it feels like winning to me and that's strange because it was never a not win....only now it just feels like more win. I have liberals to thank for that?
Because despite your fantasy, those opposing Trump are not planning a coup. The next day and...win.
I haven't heard much from those driving the offensive attempt to undermine and overthrow the election results.
Over half of inmates in prisons are psychologically ill. In the '80s the Reagan Administration curtailed long term care for mentally ill individuals....now we incarcerate them. You know what is kind of sad about people who vote Republican? They seem to never think the cuts will affect them. At my job, I work with a family who has a disabled daughter and she is on medicaid due to her status as someone with a disability. They live in a huge gorgeous house, and had Trump signs all over the yard. The mom asked me how medicaid can pay for the child's diapers because she feels she is spending a lot on a child who isn't toilet trained yet. I gave her all the info she needed to make that happen. That night, I was thinking about it. Medicaid is on the chopping block, and it's the Republicans who want to block grant and cut it. I'm not making a judgement here on whether this family needs the state to pay for their child's therapies and diapers, but it's just mind blowing how people will vote against their own interests. Texas Republicans have made over $300 M in cuts to medicaid, causing thousands of people with disabilities to lose access to needed therapies and supports. And it will happen in other states.
Let's see what happens on inauguration day.Because despite your fantasy, those opposing Trump are not planning a coup.
