  • I'm not sure what you mean. Speaker? I'm no speaker! I get terrible stage fright.
I delete half of my posts for that reason...its exhausting haha. I'm doing good, actually thanks. And you?
Not at all, its all good. You just made me think : ) And then I feel the need to explain everything.
Damn, that sounds pretty shitty. I hope this next project goes over easier for you. It isn't right that work can consume so much of your time and mental clarity.

I'm doing a whole lot of nothing. My search to find work came up with nothing after 2 months. I'm moving in about a month, and fall semester starts back up around that same time so I'm picking up shifts where I can to try and scape all of the change together possible before it's time to pay tuition and buy books. I fixed my guitar so I've been starting to play some more, which is nice, and I've got a lot of reading done, but I feel like I've accomplished absolutely nothing these past 3 months. I'm trying to find a way out of this lazy funk, and so far I've been too lazy to really try.
I might have to pick up some Nietzsche. I've read brief things here and there on him, and we talked about him for maybe half a lecture in my philosophy course 2 semesters ago, but I hardly remember a thing about him or his teachings. Intriguing to say the least.

So what's been up with you?
Hey, hope I didn't offend you with that post John. Just for the record, I consider you an F with well developed T functions. I feel I'm the same. I posted more in the thread.
Are talking about that guy who made gold and ate people? He was awesome! :D

I know what you mean. I guess audiences are more interested in action taking place rather than insight. Movies these days are almost always shallow in characterisation.
Of 'Casablanca' fame. You've probably picked up bits of it through popculture osmosis even if you haven't actually watched the movie. 'Play it again, Sam. For old times' sake' or 'Of all the gin joints in all the world, she walks into mine' I can't think of anymore off the top of my head, but I bet you'd recognise some if you heard them. It was a very good, very quotable movie. I'll make sure he doesn't find the Monster Energy™ drinks. *shudder*

We shall see. If you happen to slip away into your shell while I'm typing, it was very fun talking to you, extroverted NeverAmI. We should do it again sometime.

Yes, you should watch it. Old-style Studio Ghibli, before they did more heartwarming stuff like My Neighbor Totoro. Have you seen Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away? Both very good (though in the former's case, the story will make more sense if you've read the book). I loved Princess Mononoke. I think Ghibli portrays much stronger characters than most live action movies today.
It was an incredible series. Definitely not like the other anime you normally see. Maybe even a masterpiece. But it made me so disgusted that I couldn't finish it. Strangely, this feeling didn't extend for Grave of the Fireflies. I mean, I thought it was deeply moving, and I'll admit I even shed some manly tears for the characters, but I was able to finish it despite it being an hour and half movie of cruelty. Maybe it was because I was told what to expect when it was recommended to me. I thought NTHT was going to simply just be drama. Boy, was that judgment off. Maybe I'll try it again later now that I'm mentally prepared.

Much thanks for the link. As Rick says, 'I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship...'
My God, did you actually watch Now and Then, Here and There? How did you manage to not want to kill yourself? It was so bleak/depressing!
Hmm...They say the greatest gift is....knowledge. Or so I'm told. Are you a fan of classic literature? Have you heard of Project Gutenberg? It's a site dedicated to collecting books that are no longer under copyright. Here: http://www.gutenberg.org/

And if you already knew of it, here is something everybody who goes outside can find useful. A few commonplace ways of predicting the weather in handy infographic form: http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4328/1276442464688.jpg From experience, it seems to be reliable for the most part though I suppose it depends on your local climate.
Or the dogs, or the bees that are followed by dogs that shoot bees when they bark?

....Bees? BEES?! *woof, woof* AHH! Save yourself!

On a more serious note, I concur with mf. You should read Ishmael (if you haven't begun already). It was a wonderfully interesting book. I'm sorry for being a quasi-stalker, but I couldn't help but notice the post. You won't regret reading it.
Here? Do you mean your profile page, the forums, or the internet in general? Because my answer to all of the above happen to be the same: It was indeed the freshly brewed coffee (among other things).
I don't know if you've started to read Ishmael yet, but if you haven't I'd highly highly recommend it. I'm only about 80 pages in but it's slowly dissolving and rebuilding my entire understanding of the world. I have to stop every few paragraphs and really digest what I've just read.

Extremely interesting to say the least.
I think I am getting a Yamaha too. I showed the vids you sent me to my sister (because we're buying it together) and she liked it.

and no music theory discussion until I learn and master some, smartie pants! :p
I'm more centered now after some recharging and relaxing. But still lots of things to do, and so little time. How about you? You are MIA here? :)
Oh no you did not!! and here I thought I'd get mine first so I can practice and understand what you're talking about when we discuss music. lol I'm still saving money, but I am close to buying it now. Did you get a Yamaha?
