Ok. We use animals because we don't *want* to do something, we could hitch humans to rope and have them pull carriages, but we don't. We could have humans on leashes hunting down foxes who were especially trained in fox scent, but we don't. Because we don't want to, for any reason, but not because we can't.
And I agree about the you're comment, however, usually it's quite obvious I'm simply being derisive. I don't find the fact that people accuse me of having no feeling whatsoever, because I'd kill a dog with no soul, for a million dollars, to be in good taste either.
There's nothing pompous about stating our position on the evolutionary ladder. I'm sure if dogs could talk, they would state how much better they were than anyone else.
On the other hand, don't get me wrong. I am not an animal cruelty type of person, I can't stand it when people abuse animals for no reason. However, I'm simply being realistic. If someone presented me with a million dollars, and asked me to stab the dog to death, I'd close my eyes and get to work.
