I am sure you will do great! Just keep in mind that you will expand that capacity so much further. I read about your participation with Whitacre, that is awesome! I have never been into opera so I don't have much knowledge in it, but I think it is one of those things where being there and seeing it live makes it so much more personal.
And wtf is up with Shai Gar's visitor messages? Did he give you that user title too?
I had stumbled across Sibelius' CD when I was learning piano in High School and I was totally blown away by it.
I think you are the first to assign anything close to the level of admiration I have for that concerto.
I am just now starting to really dive into theory. It will be a long road but I already start to catch more patterns and have a better idea of what is going on in the music, especially in the more complex pieces.
After starting to learn, I don't understand how anyone could say it is better not to know it. I suppose some get caught up in the details of mechanics, but that sounds like more of a personality flaw to me.
Are you pretty proficient in music theory?
