  • Amazing credentials! Yes, playing by ear definately helps. I told my dad and he actually may let me! I will try to pay for half of it, at least, though. I hope I can learn violin...
I haven't done any flamenco yet but I'm trying to learn some Bossa Nova. It's so beautiful. Know any Gilberto or Jobim?
Hehe, yes, I don't know which I like more: his lyrics or his music. It's so rare that I find a musician that I completely adore both aspects of. I'm glad you are giving it a chance!

I've been playing piano since 1st grade. It was the instrument that was always in the house, therefore I started with that. Now I'm rethinking it, because I like the sounds of strings instruments much better. I'm lacking a great deal in the reading/theory department but I make up for it with my ear (hence my love for jazz/improv). I started guitar a year and some months ago. I want to learn bass, ukulele, and violin. Maybe others later...
How long have you been playing guitar (sorry for crazy long post, haha)
Haha sweet! I love being able to chat about music with people who actually grasp it. It's probably one of the few things I'm snobbish about.
I wouldn't say that Andrew Bird is for everyone, but if you like him, then it can be so blissful. He's much better live, btw. He has some good footage of lollapalooza on youtube. A career in jazz? Oh wow.
Haha! The whistling is only a tiny aspect of his greatness. It's his melodies, and innovative incorporation of the violin into a genre that'd otherwise be just plain indie rock. It adds another whole level of poignancy and musical depth.

I grew up around classical...I love the chords and rhythms used in jazz, although lots of people can't fully wrap their head around such an abstract genre. They can keep their basic chord progressions, though....
I youtubed you. The quality was a bit shotty but I still liked it.
I usually listen to hmm indie-folk-rock and baroque pop. Sometimes Jazz and classical get thrown into the mix. Lately I'm loving Andrew Bird.
Thanks for your expertise! Oh c'mon...defend your own band even if it's rubbish. (Haha alright, if you are an infj that's impossible).

When I first heard your voice, though, I instantly thought: ska!

    Keep playing :)
I don't listen to lots of Ska but I guess you could say Aquabats? I have to be in the right mood for it, but when I am, I puts me in a really good mood. Besides Minority Funk, of course, which ska bands do you reccommend?
It makes me quite relieved that you have friends in that age rage who arent married and settled yet. I had the impression that Americans settle down very early because many join the army etc. HOW sweet of you to consider me like that "And the community theaters in my area usually have rehearsal in the evenings so you wouldn't have to worry about it coinciding with your doctor job". Really it made me so happy! ^^

My field of interest is Psychiatry. I truly feel that I can, if not cure, at least make a difference especially with psychotic disorders such as Schizophrenia!

That is completely correct. Happiness lies in America for me. I hope you don't think of me as a Fanatic haha. I should really write a biography about it because I even find my own case bizzare. The best way I can convey what it feels like is:
Imagine being homesick to a place you had never visited. I've like this all my conscious life. Because as soon as I stepped onto american soil for the first time (last summer), the airport in Texas, I could simply feel it. I saw the American flag for REAL haha. I was home and it was warm!!!

WOW THANK YOU for the great Idea, of course it should be possible to do a couple of semesters abroad. An M.D is the same everywhere in the world so I will look into it. It will give me more experience but at the same time meet my 'needs' haha.
I took a peek at your photos. You have NO idea how much you look exactly like my friend Justin. Splitting image. I'll have to dig around for a photo, because its completely unreal how similar you two look.

He's never seen without a guitar in his hand either.

    Weird.
The fee's are insane and it is not possible to recieve that many scholarships, especially not in the schools I want to apply to. I have thought about finishing my studies in Poland, where there is an English division. It will be easier and less expensive. But is that a good price to pay for being unhappy for 5 more years untill I'm 23 :( Surely I will be a young doctor but then when I go to USA, I 'll be to old to marry marry and act.

Usa really does have a special place in my heart. Its even hard for me to put my finger on. People ask me why? But its not so simple. It goes deep somehow (hope it makes sense haha) :) Anyway the course takes place in many places, but I was thinking about San Francisco or San Diego in CA.
I would really love to study in the US, but it is extremely expensive for foreigners and hard to get in. It feels like my dream keeps fading farther away from me. Its just so hard you know.

THANK YOU for the great idea haha. I will definetly check the possibilities ^^
I think that you will be an excellent teacher and hope your knee recovers well. I have been wanting to live by myself recently too. :)

By the way, speaking of English I'm considering going on a 'basic 3-week english course' in USA haha. Not that I really need it but just to GO and feel my heart become whole again!
Awe you are right, no one has rejected me so far. Thank you for the nice welcoming :) I did have a very busy summer but I'm already back in the 'real world' so to say haha.

My plan is to do a Physics course this semester and Chemistry the next one, in order to get into medical school. I would also really love to do some acting as I have this 'spare' year but I'm not sure where to turn. :p
What about you, what are your plans? :D Do you have anything new comming up? :)
Aww I'm really sorry, believe me my absence wasnt intentional at all. Really I missed you LOADS! ^^. I have been to a horseback riding camp, the Sorbonne and my daddys. Although I feel a slight angst about returning after such a long time, as I fear the rejection. But HEY, speaking of Optimism - I PASSED MY FINALS AND WILL RECIEVE MY DIPLOMA SEPTEMBER 5th HAHAH! :D ^^ So how has life treated you? :D
    <3
Been through hell and back, to be honest. But good nonetheless. Gained some new perspectives.
That's probably the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me.
What's new and blue with you?
