(yes that's a real tweet)

Trump and the GOP have an excellent strategy for winning, empower the base with every xenophobic action they can think of legal and illegal and then massive ad hominem attacks on whoever is emerging as the likely opposing candidate coupled with an all out McCarthiestic crusade against "Socialism"
BTW
... but at this point I think that the lack of evidence should be cause to abandon this folly. I also think those in the intelligence apparatus that exaggerated Trump's connections to Russia ought to be removed from their posts for incompetence at least if not for downright dishonesty.
this is absolute bullshit. A counter espionage investigation of the GRU's attempt at influencing the Trump campaign was and is completely justified. Saying the intelligence community exaggerated connections to Russia is patently false. Take a moment and read a bit from Marcia Wheeler's excellent site https://www.emptywheel.net/posts/

This is honestly such a low intelligence strategy (and sadly it does work). Especially with the ad hominem attacks..And it's not only in the US I'm seeing these kind of populist strategies emerge (EU has plenty of examples as well).

I also think Trump will be re-elected. As more time goes by, the Democrats dig themselves deeper into a hole they can't get out of.

Honestly though, President Trump has done more good than bad. I didn't vote for him, nor Clinton, nor any other candidate in any election for that matter. The two party system can become detrimental but so far it has served its purpose.

As difficult as it is, try to look at it objectively; not speculate. What has he actually done? What is there actual real evidence for? Let's think about what's important here. I think the truth is important. Sometimes its seems impossible to find it in all this craziness, but it's got to be there.

I don't mean to step on toes and as my first day in these forums, I would hate to be banned for trying to calm the waters, but people feel so strong about what's going on with Trump that it is overwhelming.

You won't be banned for giving your own opinion, that would be idiotic. I do agree that Trump is the better choice between him and Hillary (and yes I do get flack on that as well). Hillary is a the smarter candidate between the 2, however she is terrible in regards to teamplay and decision making as a whole. She is very stubborn in regards to her decisions and this would damage the international political status as a whole.

Trump...is just an idiot, he reflects his idiocy in any means necessary, BUT that makes him predictable. And predictability makes it a safe environment within a geopolitical scheme. So I don't mind him as the US president within a global sense. I just mind him as a person, being the retard clown as he is.

Having said that...i'd rather not see him getting another 4 year term...too much is too much.

Rando speculation on a website a criminal conviction does not make. Stu, this has gone on long enough- there are no convictions coming for Trump. We've been investigating this Russia thing with the full U.S. intelligence apparatus alongside congress for years now and they haven't found anything substantial enough to warrant any kind of action. It's time to stop this and just beat the Republicans fairly through the political process.

Trump could easily get another four years. The Democrats are eating themselves alive – both the candidates and the voters. Voter and candidate disagreement is currently chaos. I have been saying this for years, too: The Democrats are the weaker party because they are supposed to represent the entire 'left', when the 'left' is made up of many different factions of political ideologies. Most of these ideologies don't agree with the Democratic platform, which isn't actually 'left', or 'liberal'. The Republicans also make up a few different ideologies, but they are team players.

Historically, the candidate who wins is the candidate a large mass of voters believe in. The opposing candidate (the one seen as "the lesser of two evil" for example) does not win.

If the Democrats have a candidate waiting in the wings that people who've traditionally voted Dem enthusiastically back, they have a chance. They may be biding their time because they don't want that candidate exposed to Trump's mudslinging, but so far it doesn't look like they have anyone a large number of voters agree on.
