Honestly, I expect it. I expect atheists to constantly move the goal post. I expect people who are not religious at all (Nones, as they are called) to mock religion. I expect anyone who is not a Christian to either not care about the evidence or not believe based on some faulty evidence, or simply can't believe for any number of reasons (such as they were hurt by people in the Church, the Church is not Jewish enough, the Church is too Jewish, or they are simply apathetic).

Yep. It actually makes me sad. But even Jesus didn’t force. He simply said to be fishers of men and to go forth to spread the word etc, and that is all you can do realistically. Try your best to be a light and talk to those who want to listen, Twist.

Thank goodness I am not an atheist. I consider that as untenable.
As is their right, and I can understand their motivations, even if it is not my way.
I think it a waste of time to mock belief, religious or otherwise, and what do I know? They could be right. Regardless, it’s a cheap and petty disrespect.
Well, when someone from the Assembly of God reveals their genitals after asking you to come closer, and tells you, the child, that Jesus wanted this for you, it does leave a certain impression.
Obviously, that has nothing to do with any idea of God, save that of a shepherd gone astray. That’s human preying on one who can little defend their self. I think that violates the commandment to love thy neighbor.
Regardless, the experience is what it is, and it colors things.
Of course, I have had many positive, and loving experiences with those who hold Jesus as their savior.
It’s been a very mixed bag. As a child, I had no way to reconcile that with any greater understanding. I perhaps have more context now.

Just a little advice if you want to spread the word, it might help if you spread the word in a way that's a little more palatable to those who have been hurt by it, rather than engaging in similar behaviors that caused the hurt. Maybe don't ostracize people and call them perverse and sinful for being trans, then turn your nose up at them when they don't follow your religion. Condemning them to hell in your mind simply for not believing, which would be sadistic of any god to do, if it were true.

Such a cruel thing to say. Punish someone for rape and murder, but this? Does no one stop and think about how twisted and wrong that is? "I hope you enjoy hellfire because you said Jesus has a sexy butt." What a great god that would be. I would surely follow them with love and devotion.

I'll tell you what I would tell anyone...
It's not my job to convince people through wisdom and understanding. It's simply my job to tell the truth. Some people think the truth is offensive.
I have not condemned anyone. I have spoken about what things appear to me to be the case. When you tell people their view is wrong because you already know the PoV they are coming from, but they deny such labels, and then you ask them to clarify their position, so that there will not be any misunderstandings, and they simply tell you that you are not worth them telling you their PoV, I can't adapt my message to them. It's impossible to cater to the people I am sharing with if they can't tell me where they are coming from when I ask. This is not the first time, even in this thread, that people have refused to give answers to very simply questions from their PoV. When People don't give you their PoV for any number of reasons, it make it impossible to meet them where they are at. People say I come on strong and am only sharing in an ST way. IDK what to tell them.... There was a thread about sharing their mystical experiences... I've shared several. But these things are not persuasive because people have their own rationalization for what I experienced. It's a losing game to do what I am doing. I know it. I don't care. I continue to do it. I've been saying this a lot lately, but I believe that sometimes the Truth is worth saying even if it doesn't change anything at all. I am called to be a watchman on the wall. I am here to speak the truth. I will make mistakes because I am human. No one is without fault, however. We all can't even keep to the standard we set for ourselves, let alone following what God says to do. I love people by telling the truth. I do my best to not attack the person. I do my best to keep my comments on the issue at hand. When people punt and say that they don't believe and can't say why they don't, my hands are tied and all I can do is continue to do what I have been doing.

God is just. Every ear has the chance to hear and repent, if they should choose not to, then yes - it is said that unbelievers will not reside in Heaven.
You wouldn’t bring someone into your home to live with you for all of eternity who loathed you, who loathed your rules…
Imagine if you had sacrificed yourself on the cross for that person in order to pay for their crimes, their debts, their mistakes - in order to make a way for them to be free for all of eternity. In order for them to have that second chance to repent from their life before you, in order to escape the justice, the life sentence that was coming their way, that you laid your own life down, and died. Only for them to spit on you, mock you, and rebel against your rules.
And yet here you are again, acting shocked that people say God also doesn’t want to force such a person into his house forever?
Continue to clutch your pearls, Hush. Because as far as I am concerned you are lost. Sad as it is, yes even to me.. You can clutch them and scream and rant all you want because you are offended by God’s disdain for sin and sinful lifestyles. Your soul and your spiritual journey are between you and God.
But make no mistake. God is also a just God. And if you think that makes him too harsh to be your God, then that is up to you.
I did not once say you were damned to Hell for your jokes. But it seems to me that most people who intentionally mock God and live in rebellion to the commandments, calling the bible fiction- are likely not going to repent and have a close relationship with God, anytime soon.
Wonderful if they do! By all means, great.
But those who continue to reject Him and his word till they die will be in for a very sad surprise, yes. That’s exactly what I meant.
I do find it sad, and have said so numerous times.
Now publicly I ask you, yet again, to leave me alone.

I think this is your biggest flaw.
You think you know better.
You think you are a mind reader.
This is why people do not share anything with you.
Because they know you are against them from the start.
Its none of your business to know who people are on the inside.
And if you keep insisting it is then all I have to say is that you will be doomed to fail each and every time.
You simply cannot be trusted.
And if you cannot be trusted then everything you do is just to bully others.
Everything you say may be right or wrong but you cannot know other people.
By saying you can you are not respecting others boundaries.
Violating others boundaries pisses them off.
I could go into why you do so but to make things general: people like you don't give a damn if they violate other or not, This is based on pride. Pride that they are better than others. Meaning they can do what they want no matter what. Meaning others don't trust them.
You will say you know why I for example do what I do but but that is arrogant. You simply do not know and cannot know. Only God knows.

I'm offended that you even think these are "sinful" lifestyles. That's the problem here. I find even the idea of thinking of these people and their lives as sinful nauseating and repugnant. "Force such a person?" Because of their gender? Why would I want to enter that house anyway? No thank you, it sounds like the one who owns it is an asshole.

I don’t want your advice. You you don’t even know me or the things I have endured. I was also abused by someone who came to live with us when I was a young girl of 12. He touted his faith, vehemently debating my family with his own.
It’s easy to blame God and get a bad taste in your mouth for religion. I understand this concept well. But eventually we must grow up and learn to differentiate between God and those who have done great evil in His name.

However, you made many assertions about me that are plainly false. I'm simply not interested in "debunking" all these things you said about me. It's not important to me to fight for myself. What IS important for me to fight for is the ideas and logic I make a case for (that I feel strongly about, which not every issue IS that important to me, so you will not really see me talk about them much). But I suppose you will still say I am being "prideful" because I happen to make strong claims and am so strong about them even though the "me" in this conversation simply isn't important to me.

I'm not blaming god. I'm not blaming your religion. I'm blaming you as an individual and how you misuse your faith. That's what people don't seem to understand. They don't seem to get that I have never had issues with any Christians here before. That I only responded and mentioned anything about religion at all when I was presented with certain beliefs. Not a word from me before that, before you showed up in my blog. I wonder why a bad taste might have been left in my mouth, if there is one?
It's not your religion, it's what you choose to do with your religion. That trans thread looks a lot like doing evil in his name, but you'll never be able to see that. You don't seem to grasp that a loving god wouldn't punish his children to eternal damnation for such a thing. That your beliefs are contrary to the god you follow. The image you paint of god is that of a tyrant.
