i listened to a lot...

So, who else watched Day 1?

I caught two-thirds of it or so.

I did find it quite funny (though not), that the GOP was harping on and on about 2nd and 3rd hand accounts, when it's the WH and GOP claiming some erroneous obstructive executive privilege allowing those folks to ignore Congressional subpoenas.
I'm glad that was pointed out and hope they continue to try and compel them all to testify - or hold them criminally accountable.

It was interesting the storyline that both sides painted - there was a good heap of propaganda and rabbit holes to nowhere.

Had a bit of a migraine today...must be the mass collective throwing up in their mouths. :tongueclosed:

Like the inadmissible logs and memos? ;) Hoping they subpoena those.

Sorry you got a migraine, yet some truth to the collective toxicity, very draining. I listened to it more than watching, especially after the star witness was tossed under the hearsay accounts bus.

Yep...I hope so too.
They are already going to now interview that staffer who overheard the phone call between Sondland and Trump, so that's new at least.
I rolled my eyes so hard into the back of my head I had to cough them up when Devin Nunez brought out his "Star Chamber" BS lmao.
Or restated the claim that the Mueller investigation found nothing - the 34 people who went to prison or jail or were otherwise found guilty would argue otherwise.
And pretty much everything else he said.
They STILL only have the non-official transcript of the call also...some of which was changed according to A. Vindman.
Anyhow...we shall see.

As was stated - people have been convicted on 2nd and 3rd hand accounts.
Especially when it's corroborated by everyone in the know so far.
And again...if they are so upset about so called "hearsay" then push back on those with first hand knowledge who are defying the congressional subpoenas.
Compel the POTUS to come before congress if there is nothing there.

Yes...that IS toxic shit...I feel much better this morning!
Hope you are well!?

This is all damaging to Trump's image as president. As I listened to the GOP investigator's questions it seemed to me, biased as I am, that the most compelling defense is that the career guys did not know what Trump knows and were improper in assuming corrupt intent, ie only looking to embarrass the leading dem contender in the primaries and the dems at large as a party, and not that he was defending the US from highly motivated foreign adversary with a history of interfering in US Politics.
The problem with that defense is that those allegations, while prominent on Foxx news and other right wing news platforms, are so hard to prove that they are widely dismissed by professional analysts and researchers as fabrications.
What the GOP really needs to do is put Rudy and Mulvaney before the committee and let them prove that Ukraine hacked the DNC's communication system (ie "Crowdstrike").
Of course I don't believe they could prove anything other than that they themselves don't believe it and were really motivated to do what they did to further Trump's political fortunes and enrich themselves.

45 is a criminal. He runs the white house Like he is a crime boss. his inner circle is all heading to prison, does that speak to anyone?? He is a russian asset due to his ties to russian money, because no one else would loan to him. He has stolen from charities, and acts like the US treasury is his personal piggy bank. He is violating the emoluments clause, and frankly he is declining cognitively, and unable to put rational coherent sentences together.. . he refuses to cooperate with the house, and that is obstruction of justice in and of itself. .why this circus is allowed to continue astonishes me.

For those watching, listening and or reading at home it is fascinating to have one of the Presidents former chief national security adviser, whom he appointed, go on the congressional record saying that the narrative that Ukraine hacked the DNC computer system and was behind the release of the DNCs emails and private documents during the 2016 presidential election is a fictional narrative perpetuated by the Russian government to damage our political system and then have the President go on national tv during a phone interview and restate this fiction as fact. The only thing that would lead to his conviction in the Senate would be incontrovertible evidence that he is an agent of the Russian Republic.

This is not meant to disrupt the conversation. This is what came to mind immediately after reading a bit of this. Ask me to delete it and I will, but at least catch my drift.

How many understood this?

John.8
[1] Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
[2] And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
[3] And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
[4] They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
[5] Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
[6] This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
[7] So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
[8] And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
[9] And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
[10] When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
[11] She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
[12] Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
[13] The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
[14] Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
[15] Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

Is the mount made of olives or does it belong to Olive?

Love to hear what you think.

I just found it amusing to feign misunderstanding of the first line of the passage.

I have no significant thoughts on Trump. The whole thing is too surreal for me but it seems he's a symptom of the times.
