So, what's your own unique recipe for a glass half full?

Faith, hope, and a positive attitude...

good ones deadred.

Recipe:

1 cup belief
1/2 cup persistence
2 tbsp intention
AND
a sprig of time

honestly? ignoring a lot of things. i wonder sometimes if happiness is worth the price of intentionally deluding oneself.. (and then i wonder if you can really be happy in any other way)

I don't understand the concept of this thread.

If a glass were really half full, as opposed to being mostly empty space like even atoms are, then it would have dangerously high gravity and could collapse into a black hole.

1 part vodka, 1 part orange juice. Give a whisk. Voila! It's half-empty. Top me off! :D

No, I'm kidding. I tend to look at the glass as half-full. Empty means empty: nothingness, vacant, barren, depleted, dry, void. No material to work with, no effort to be made. Hopelessness. And half-empty... well, yeah, it's half way to the bottom, perhaps, but still has half of something. Nothing is ever "empty" if there's still something to focus on or enjoy.

I'd say the recipe for half-full is...

Hope
Appreciation
Carpe Diem
Subjective Value
Happiness

My glass has three parts, 1/4Faith, 1/4Hope, and 2/4Love and it's always overflowing.

An obstinate desire to ignore pitfalls.

Conversely, my recipe for a glass half empty is fatalism.

The only real way is to see it for what it is: a glass of half and half.

Good one.

Faith - by which to live life
Hope - with which to look forward and have joy in life
Love - through which all others exist; without this, all others are useless.
of course the Lord is there, ever present

I was going to answer Red wine after seeing the topic title and @Hotkebab; 's username, for some unknown reason.

Then I see it's a recipe for optimism.

Hmmmmmmm, hard to say, but there's always hope that everything's going to be better. :)
Perseverance too, I guess?
*on a second thought, seeing how hard is it for me to answer tells something about my current state of mind --or rather, my induced state of mind--* will answer it later :D

lol! This has made me very happy. Definitely signature/quote material. :p

My glass has knowledge, free will, love&care, and ambition all mixed and well stirred in a main solvent of Faith. Quantities and proportions differ depending on the situation I am in. =)

I must only have a half glass for that to be true. Who cut my glass in half?
