Slavic Cultural Stuff & THings

If we talking about Slavic things - I'm from Poland :D
There is one thing that I love in Slav cuisine - pierogi ^^ (ang. dumplings)
You can eat them with everything! (Like meat, fruits, vegetables)
So, if some of you will travel to PL I recommend to try some :)

I love them to. Luckily here in Arizona USA I have a real Polish bakery just down the street. Imagine that. Babushkas rolling pierogi in the desert. They sell all kinds, and sausages. It is also a deli. I would love to visit Poland some time.

No worries! I will explain you in particular.

The Russian word “blin” literally means “pancake” in English.

Slang:

It is used in the same way as English equivalent word “shit” or “damn”. But blin is considered to be softer word than [blyat] “shit” or “damn”. That’s to say, polite swear word.

Vot blin! - translated as “Hell’s bells!” or “Oh, shit!”

It's a second-string swear word, like saying "darn it" rather than "damn it". "Blyat" or блядь is a swear word, and "bleen" or блин (literally crepe) is the lighter substitute.

Meaty Pierogi with Barszcz, that's like the staple polish survival food of maximum comfort (it's so good).
Or Berry Pierogi with cream cheese and sugar...oh god the memories!!

One of my Polish friends used to make pierogi for parties. They were amazing!
Another Polish friend made pickle soup and... seriously... if anyone has a recipe for Polish pickle soup I will be eternally grateful.
