Do you consider yourself to be politicized?

Do you actively engage in political discussion, thought, or activity on a regular basis?

What are your thoughts of people who are ignorant on a political level? Do you feel frustration or disdain for their lack of interest, knowledge, and/or understanding?

I hate politics and go out of my way to avoid them... or contradict whatever side whoever I am talking to is on. I look in depth into political candidates and then choose not to vote because none of them are good enough... and if my friend's vote of flipping a coin is worth the same as mine then better not to waist my time when no one really cares anyway. My father is very conservative and my mother very liberal. I can see "logic" to both sides but myself think that anything taken to an extreme is detrimental. They are the reason why I dislike politics so much... and because, to me, all politicians are liars. I don't care if that is the system, I will have no part in it, if not a one of them can say what they mean and mean what they say.
 
Life is politics, and it annoys me when someone does not take the time to discover and rationalize their beliefs. I grew up in a traditionally "Republican" household, but in recent years I've been engaging my parents more in political thought, and their views are changing to something beyond party lines.
 
Sure, though my inclinations are typically subversive in nature.
 
I have mostly been highly libertarian and pro-decentralisation going to point of supporting Scottish independence discretely for some time.
 
Me? I'm a socialist (not a communist or a nazi). As such, I dislike people who say that 'socialism is evil' when they don't know what it is. The NHS of the UK (the country whose government let me stay with their people) is a socialist organization. It provides free health care to every citizen. State education is a form of socialism too... I like to discover other people's views though, and I'm open to listening.

When I was a young adult, I was highly politicized, the typical bleeding heart liberal. As I grew older, two things changed.

1. I looked to see what was actually WORKING to obtain the ideals that I wanted, and sometimes socialism bombed. I made the decision to follow results rather than attach myself again to particular political philosophies.

2. I burned out. I was spending all this emotional effort, and in the end, there was VERY LITTLE I could do to change things. I resolved to only put in the amount of emotional energy perportional to my actual power. For example, I haven't bothered to look into what any of the candidates stand for, becaue most of them won't even be on the ballot. When we finally have the short list of who we actually get to choose from in the primary, THEN I'll look up the statements from THOSE candidates.

Off hand comment: this will be my first Republican primary ever. feels strange, given that I was once a member of the Peace and Freedom party!

No. I hate politics. I know some, but I am more apt to following politics on a local level than federal.

Does reading Dick Cheney's lastest book qualify? Even if I can't get past the first chapter? Who said they like stabbing themselves in the thigh with a fork? Otherwise, NO!!!. Political internet forums are NASTY!

I don't care, typically those people are not inclined to vote. I'm more agitated by those who vote based on "NF" vs. "ST".

 No, not until I was married. My mother-in-law did tell me that if I voted Democrat I would be disowned. Like I care. :D

No. I was not more politically aware until I married.
