How much trust do you put into MBTI?

It's a watered down version of Socionics. It's not reliable nor valid since there aren't factors that can concretely signify someone's type like Socionics. I don't even put a lot of trust in Socionics but I still find it to be better since it has more factors like intertype relations, romance styles, Quadra, etc which makes it more reliable. It's the better of the two evils. Of course, if you're not knowledgeable in either or objective, you are bound to make false conclusions on someone's type.

It's useful as a loose categorisation of personality but shouldn't be seen as anything more.

Consider that the people who put the most stock into type theories as anything other than "hey this is an interesting thing" also practice or show interest in practicing astrology and other mystic garbage.

This is spot on
