and btw, before i start, this is NOT in the wrong section. everyone knows that infjs always drink til they pass out and THATS EXCLUSIVLY AN INFJ THING. DO NOT DARE PUT THIS IN A DIFFERENT SECTION, MODS.

(and yes, im a saru wannabe, because his thread making skills are great)

ok so. let me tell you. i live in the united states (yay for capitalism), and

what a night i had yesterday. i drank till i passed out on the bathroom floor at some show far away from home, and i guess someone called 911 because before i knew it i was in the emergency room.

it got me thinking. the service i received wasnt that great. they treated me for 6 hrs they said. i got there at around midnight and they woke me up at 6 am. i felt like shit and wanted to sleep more. they said i had to leave because they did all the treatment already, there was nothing left for them to treat. granted, this was in the ER area so they probably need it for people who have actual illnesses, so i asked if i could be put in a different area of the hospital. the lady said no but that i was MORE THAN WELCOME to stay in the waiting room. lold.

the way i see it, they were no longer able to treat me, meaning they cant bill me, meaning they cant make money off me, so i had to leave. but i could be wrong. it may just be that this is standard no matter where in the world this happens? i guess it might be a lack of sympathy thing. you know, they wanna make room for people who are in actual danger ad opposed to some kid that just drank too much.

has anyone here ever gone to the ER with alcohol posioning in a country with universal healthcare? how did that work out for you?

lol aerosol
what antics will you get up to next?

What do you think there is a pill theyd give you to make your hangover go away? lol

no. the problem was that they wouldnt let me sleep there. i was far away from home and had to take two cabs and an hr long train ride to get home whilst feeling like absolute shit.

I would have just gone to McDs after. Fuck it, ya know?

A couple weekends ago I walked home at 4am and got home at 5am after a bit of drinking. I snuck out of my friends place to walk home. That's my story.

I'm assuming you were in Canada though. And hooray for capitalisms too.

Haha so every wine-o should just get drunk and then go to the hospital for some free room and board. I mean come on man, get serious.

how would it be free?
they have to treat you and check stuff before they would let you sleep, which costs money. they did an ekg on me and i was hooked up to an IV. and i got there in sn ambulance, so yeah, i doubt thats free.

Well are you still sick? Or were the doctors/nurses right?

So I am assuming you just had a hangover from your story. Do you think you people with hangovers should be able to sleep it off in the hospital? To me that sounds dumb. Did you bother to flash some cash and ask for a place to stay?

LOL.

Well...

Glad you didn't get dead from alcohol poisoning! That would've been a whole different kind of wake-up call. "Mom, sorry, I'm staying at St. Peter's for a while. When? Um, until eternity I think. I'll be back after then."

I've drunk until I've passed out before, but only at my house or a friend's house. But doing that kind of crap drinking in a strange place--? Hell to the naw. That sh!t's crazy, yo.

/ghetto voice

These days I barely drink, though, so I'm not the best person to sympathize with. Next time, stay with friends and avoid the cab or bus fare. :)

What kind of insurance do you have?

Just wait for that $3,000 medical bill and the additional $1,300 for the ambulance service. Trust me, they'll find you! Yay for Capitalism!

I only drink that much around homies I trust, and I've only ever passed out at home. If you were with friends, they're fired, that's all I'm saying. :S Be careful, honey!

The hospital can't admit you to a med/surg bed without good reason. To sleep off a hangover is not a good reason and yes, the ER needs the bed for people who are genuinely ill. It doesn't have anything to do with ability to pay, there are strict guidelines and regulations they have to follow.
