I hardly watch TV anymore either. Media influence is one of the things my up bringing has been constantly steered away from. The other parents never understood my mum when she wouldn't let me read gossip magazines and I'm glad she didn't change her mind on the subject. Gossip is why a lot of girls think they're fat.
