There are so many overlooked gems nobody talks about I can't believe I haven't head before.

I'm half way through The Third - Girl with the blue eye and it's honestly a terrific show. Lovely opening song, it's set in a optimistic post dystopian world, with a strong and compassionate female main character. The premise isn't anything new and it has a smidgen of everything. Action, mecha, psychic powers, but mostly absent of usual annoying anime tropes and rampant fanservice, with a very warm atmosphere, outlook and the focus is on enjoyable if occasionally quirky characters

I'm not a fan of the character designs and the animation is subpar but I'm really enjoying it. Don't know how else to put it, but the show's got soul.
