  • Sure, sometimes. I'm logged in at a go server (KGS) all the time just to stay in touch with the people I got to know during my more active years.
Looks nice. I haven't put any effort in studying go for about 10 years. I'm sure a lot has happened online.
Sometimes it is not so difficult to read many moves ahead. Like if it is a ladder or some other situation where the opponent's answer is forced for several moves in a row or the position will collapse. A 30 move ladder is not hard to read, but for a complicated life/death situation in the corner 5 moves is often a lot.
Not even computers try to do exhaustive search these days. A big part of reading skill is to instinctively know which moves *not* to read on. Tesuji are non-obvious moves that you still have to consider. That is why tesuji pattern matching is such an important skill.
Nothing much, little bit of this and that:) Work, attempts of romances...
About 50. The two I mentioned are the ones I have gone through by far the most times. About 10 times each, if not more.
Sounds like you want to study tesuji. I recommend Graded Go Problems for Beginners, vol. 2-3.
I think I need to do something I really beleive in to work all the time. Preferaby have full control of it as well. So what have you been up to? How is your go? :)
Oh yeah. I completely agree. Last two weeks I worked about 50 hours per week. On average about 45 (intense) hours. It is good practice in trying to be efficient, which I could use as an INFJ, but it stresses me out in the long run. I make a fair amout of money though, which I plan to use at the end of the year, taking some time off, rest and work on my own stuff.
I think it is a little different at game companies, where people actually enjoy working and want to make a really good game. So they push us until we dislike our job as much as everyone else. Also, E3 starts on tuesday. But it is too much for me. I will be looking for some other job soon.
You're right. :) Great to see you back here. Hope all is well in your world.
Hey dude! Good to hear from you. I'm doing alright, except that I'm working my ass off at DICE. I seriously need some rest, which I will get in october. How are you doing?
I am so very glad to see you back! I have been enjoying the ride, and I hope you've been well.
