I'm from the Montreal shore. Montreal is full of big ugly brown and brown buildings with some graffitis and too much grey in general D: And the shore's got the little flowers and old people doing their garden and stuff like that =P

For how much time have you been drumming? =o

And no I don't plan on being banned hehe, even if you want so. Sorry xD
    Should be good tough ^^

I'd push boundaries but I dunno where they are. Not in the closet.
Unless I get a door and call it boundaries. That way I could push boundaries.

This one lives the present moment. :P

Your drumming is awesome =o (i got curious about soulful's comments hehe)
    hey mario in a bagel
do you sometimes feel like you're in a hole
    hahahahahaha
    ok that was lame
Thanks for the link. :D Your playing is amazing! I don't follow live performances or percussion music, but from what I have heard I don't think I have ever seen anything like it and I didn't know the drums could be played in that way! Watching this vid, I'm not surprised you got a huge audience response and received the feedback you did - that was fantastic!

Grad school most often entails research, which means a ton of academic reading and writing. Some programs are purely research oriented (in addition to lectures and group work), while others have a practical stream. In and of itself, it doesn't typically lead to a practical outcome unless you are in a program that is practical in nature. What I hope to do won't be in nursing though, even though that's an area I originally studied. I'm not sure what I hope to do with this after I finish, to tell you the truth. That's, in part, what's making the process of applying more difficult - I worry about the decisions I'm making and whether they're wise. I keep evaluating the pros and cons, and keep hoping I'm making the better decision. I think I am.. but I suppose time will tell.

Have you eaten that salt yet? :O
Oh I'm sorry, I know you were hoping to advance. But you're so right... you will only continue to keep getting better with more practice and experience. :D

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, I can't view the video without logging in, and my account's deactivated. Do you have a link of it off of fb?

Grad studies is one major yikes. Lol. At least, I feel applying to it might feel daunting, although hopefully it won't be too stressful. It's basically a higher level of research and study than undergrad (bachelor/first degree), so it's more intense and more specialized than undergraduate schooling. I did my undergrad in nursing and women's studies, and I'm hoping to apply for global health/public health. I hope that's more clear. =)

    Hey, how was the competition?

It'd be great to see you play the drums. Do I need to have facebook to check out the link?

I live in the suburbs, which are more like the city than they are rural regions, but nevertheless they're still very much the suburbs. I'd love to live in the city, though. I want to live somewhere busy and accessible but a place that's also surrounded by nature so that I can keep my sanity :p. I'm in between school right now. I graduated with my undergrad a few years ago and am beginning the process of applying for graduate studies.

How about you? when did you realize you wanted to be a musician? Or more specifically, a drummer?
That competition sounds great. What do you play?

I played piano while growing up, and dabbled with a couple of instruments during high school - flute, tenor sax, a little bit of clarinet in the school band and tried violin for a year. I played piano the longest and it's the only instrument I can say I reached the level of playing well. The others were fun but brief (ex. a semester or two) experiences at a pretty easy level, other than flute which I played for a couple of years but with a lucklustre attitude so I didn't get very far either.

    Good luck on Thursday! :)
I think the music we're exposed to at a young age can have such an impact on us. I wonder if we internalize it more when we're younger. I grew up around oldies, but I don't think it influenced me as much as other people are influenced by early exposure. I have an odd relationship with music in that it's not very often that I find an artist or group that I'm swayed by incredibly... and everything else is nice, but just not that *it* that is riveting and satisfying. Do you know what I mean? It's like eating a bland meal versus something chock full of flavour. So growing up, there wasn't a band or type of music that resonated with me, but it was beneficial to be around it nonetheless. Nowadays I feel like I'm still looking. I'll listen to music and occasionally something will strike me in some way; some days I almost think I've found something and others it's never as lasting or satiating as it seems to be for others. So, *shrugs*, I don't know.

What kind of music does your band play? Oh, and I believe Lady Gaga's music is pop. =)
And yes, I like the bears :p

Why do you have a suspicion that your
intuition has failed you this time?
