What to do if one feels left out politically in the cold?

At this point I don't really agree with what goes for liberal or conservative anymore and I am just utterly appalled by what passes off as the electoral system completely.

What I see happening in the U.S., is hardly much more different then what I see happening here in Canada, and it seems as though all well meaning policies on the outset, are done in such a way that it only causes more of the same kind of corruption that has been going on for decades now and I find little solace or comfort hardly anymore else, as I see much of the public either falling for it, or turning to extremist and black & white actions and beliefs, and I all I really see is division, and re-directed resentment, and anger at completely innocent people. I have even myself too, been on the brunt end of this, and have experienced much bigotry, prejudice, and the like. I imagine, the class divide is widening, inequality all over the world is growing, and It's just utterly disheartening and dismaying.

You cannot really have any direct or open conversations with most people I come across who consider themselves on the left and likewise, conservatives are just as bad i their own ways. I see predominately individuals on the right, justifiable so, upset at the state of immigration, but then continually focusing and choosing to make it about race, which is more then just a little frightening at times.

The sad thing is it seems like it is happening all over the word, and not just the Western continent. The world is entirely divided and at each other's throats, and for what good reason?

I cannot help but think that as the 21st century moves forward, we are as well progressing into what will historically be termed as some sort of a "dark era" or age.


I wonder though, has it always been this way and I've just starting to notice it or is it getting worse? I resent them all, and shake my head. All I can really see is individuals who simply want power and cannot see beyond their petty differences, and likewise, this has continued on throughout all of history. With all our notions of progress and of being in a advanced era, mentally it seems we are still not that far removed from the middle ages.
 
Here's what I see a lot of conservatives doing: They're focusing a lot on topics and issue that are effecting working class and middle class people, but yet almost completely avoiding what their plans and goals are for the near future and what policies they plan to implement, besides going back a decade or two "to how things were before" or some crap, which hardly solves anything and is still not really much of a solution if anything. Plus, they keep outwardly focusing on immigration and the topic of race itself. It's true, I think on both sides is an issue, but it's only causing more division and is not the heart or real cause of the dilemma. They pretty much go "oh, those liberals are evil!" but then, I don't even think that most of these people who are siding with the left right now are really leftists and is merely just a convenient position for them to hold right now.

They're both ironically, pretty much the same thing, and likewise like always, it seems like most people cannot feasibly think for themselves and go towards whatever side will benefit them the most financially or the like. I mean it's just of sad that people still obsess and love capitalism and won't let it go. It's really, really obvious, but I know that alot of people hide it but they all secretly love capitalism and most decisions are based on how much they think it will swing in their favor.

That's why I would almost side with the left anyway, because I almost think people should be forced to cooperate anyway, but then sadly, I don't think those in power who are on the left really have everyone's best interest in mind. Having everything decided by the "communist state" seems awful to me, and like something second to a walking/living death. (plus, how many atrocities have been committed under the well meaning intentions of communist?)

Either way, to me at this point, it just seems like human beings are awful, and it's really easy to see and predict what motives and wants will be the driving force in creating situations like this, time and time again. I mean either way, human beings just seem to be progressively destroying the world, proverbially, a snake eating it's own tail.


I mean in the bible, they practically say that human beings are more or less "lambs" (or sheep) and you're either one of them or a sheepard, but then they killed Jesus, and I feel like at the end of the Christian bible it's pretty much "lol wut, srry guys there's nothing we can do lol, wait until the rapture and we'll all die but at least we won't go teh hell!"

I understand. There are a few people here in these forums that keep peddling left/right narratives without ever realising that they are completely artificial. It's like people choose a side, then choose to consume media that represent their side. Of course, most problems in the world have nothing to do with difference in opinion! Most problems happen because people to choose hate instead of love.
 
To be honest, I don't care a lot about what other people's opinions are, as much as I'm interested in what their opinions have them do. Opinions that produce unnecessary violence should be ridiculed, shamed, and cast into the shit bin.

This is an example of an extraneous "problem". Yes, opinions can and do often lead to violence. But are you willing to defend the claim that "opinions" are the primary cause of all problems in the world?

I am not willing to defend that claim.

I will defend the claim that opinions which offer justifications for violence are the primary cause of human-to-human violence. If violence was universally condemned then it wouldn't occur.

I think it's because a lot of people don't want to deal with reality as well or listen and take seriously others opinions and meet people half way and come to a place of true understanding.

It's like some weird bizzaro thing, they take whichever path is the most gratifying and self serving to their ego's, because they'd rather stay inside the artificially contrived reality they've created and come to believing in then face the possibility of it not being true.

But it's hard to say that for sure, because we all have our different ways of seeing or defining reality. I guess what I mean is, I've always had this sense that many people create artificial illusions of themselves or the world, based on often what they are trying to avoid or repress things they'd rather not confront.

I mean I think deep down, "love" is hard to always reach because we're not all compatible with each other and the concept of "love" only gets in the way. And then maybe it becomes a case that some individuals can tolerate the abstractions and artificial perceptions, but some cannot, and then it just becomes a case of not being tolerant with each other.

Like, I can't tune into the hive mind all that well and it leaves me on my own single receiver or transmission frequency and others don't like me as much because they think I'm weird. But to them, I'm not "tolerating their tolerance or love" when really, it doesn't look like that at all to me except for smiling at things in a way that seems over the top and unnecessary to me.

While I do appreciate your view on this matter, I do also disagree. Yes differences in opinion can sometimes lead to conflict. But I do not believe that the cause of most conflict in the world today has anything to do with this difference.

In America, what I see happening is that the "opinions" of the Left and the Right are being systematically created by the media. People that associate with either side of the political spectrum are having their values handed to them by news media, public figures, books, movies and so on. And this is no coincidence. The easiest way to control the public is to divide them. And the best way to divide them is to artificially create two opposing sides.

By dividing people, you can cause them to argue amongst themselves. But why is this important? Because then the public is too distracted by the bickering to understand the real causes of their suffering. They are too busy fighting amongst themselves to realize that The Federal Reserve stole their money before they were born. That big corporations have deliberately suppressed the ability to form Unions because it makes your average Joe easier to exploit.

All of this suffering has nothing to do with "opinions". All of it happens because people are too stupid to realize that hating each other is not the way to make life better. The best way to improve quality of life is to unite, and end this bloody shit show. This is essentially what I mean when I say people choose hate over love.

I think the internet is making people realize that most opinions are bullshit. I predate the internet so I have some comparison.

They've always been bullshit. Most of the things people say today are rooted in very old ways, but before the internet everybody kind of stuck to their own compartments. Now when you say something on the internet, people have every opportunity to examine it and say "hey, that's bullshit" and they start to see the patterns that couldn't really be seen before, even though the concept they're looking at is probably older than they are.

You also get to see how divided people are because things which used to be private are now broadcast across the world. The division is not new, it has just become recently apparent.

News as entertainment: Once tv news outlets noted and reported newsworthy events. Now, they must create it. How do they generate financially profitable news? By keeping citizens on edge, constantly. How? Manufacturing threats that a good government would eliminate to keep its citizens content. Citizens are relieved and happy. But again, it's time to ring the alarm bells! The citizens become frazzled and edgy.They want someone to kick around. Government to the rescue!

People are being played.

Plenty of angry conservative content!

Conservatives are always bemoaning this or that; always pissed off.

Liberals are often ill-informed trendy progressives who are smug and fake.
